The book looks at the position of the newspaper Estado de S. Paulo in its editorials during the impeachment processes of presidents Fernando Collor de Mello in 1992 and Dilma Rousseff in 2016, drawing a parallel with the past conflicts between journalism and politics. In all, there were 10 editorials in 1992; two in September, one in October, four in November and three in December. In 2016, 11 editorials were analysed: three in April, four in May, one in June, one in July and two in August. This study uses content analysis to unravel the two troubled moments in Brazilian political life from the point of view of one of the country's largest newspapers. In the end, it can be concluded that there was a difference in the way the paper treated the two cases. With regard to President Fernando Collor de Mello, the publication laments the end of the former president's government, while with regard to President Dilma Rousseff, the paper is betting that Brazil will do better without her.
This book explains elements of the Raciovitalism of Spanish philosopher José Ortega y Gasset, which serve as support for the discussion of psychotherapy in relation to those who turn to it. Ortega y Gasset's thinking understands man as constitutive lack and freedom, since, from this perspective, he is faced with things and others, with his "circumstance", having to make himself, build his own narrative in the life that presents itself to him. We have endeavoured, as our philosopher mentions, to seek as much "clarity" as possible, as this is a kind of courtesy to those who come to look at this book. Therefore, the main objective is to lead to a reflection on psychological practice and its object of action.
Proteins play a fundamental role in animal nutrition. However, when their supply is unbalanced, excess excretion of nitrogenous compounds occurs, leading to economic losses and causing environmental impact due to contamination of soils and water sources. The production of enteric methane by ruminants has also come into the focus of environmental discussions, which has put pressure on the search for dietary strategies aimed at reducing the environmental impacts of animal production, seeking maximum performance and profitability in livestock farming.
This book is aimed at maths teachers. It tries to relate the choice of methods used in the classroom to increase the performance of their students, to the characteristics related to the level of proficiency, behaviour, emotions, living conditions and age of each student. In a way that can facilitate the planning of new teaching methodologies to be applied in the classroom.
As the centrality of work in people's lives and its importance in the processes of health and illness are recognised, struggles for decent working conditions and greater access to workers' health care are growing. In Brazil, since the creation of the Unified Health System in 1990, workers' health care has been the focus of a specific public policy and must be integrated into primary care services. Primary care stands out for being the main gateway to the public health system and the coordinator of care. The general aim of this study is to analyse the available studies on workers' health care in primary care in Brazil. This is because users' working conditions interfere not only with their own process of being healthy, but can also influence the health of all those who live with them.
This work is part of the First Study Day on the French Novel, as a space for reflection, debate and expression. This framework of study sheds light on the specificity of French novelists Gaston Leroux and Jean d'Omerson. The various contributions highlight the particularity of the literary imagination, following an analysis of the aesthetics of these French novelists.
This book will lead Physical Education teachers and teachers who work with Youth and Adult Education to re-read the students' representations of their bodies, their desires in the learning process, their views on school, giving them a voice. Considering teachers and students as parts that come together in learning and teaching, it is worth remembering that it is necessary to review what is based on truths so that new possibilities for constructing learning today can take place. Mediate, interact, understand, intervene - words that represent the teaching and learning process.

Gouverneurs de la Rosée, a novel written in 1944 by Jacques Roumain, x-rays the pitiful state of the Fonds Rouge area and its inhabitants. The land no longer yielded any fruit, the direct cause of which was the massive felling of trees by the inhabitants, which in turn led to the drying up of the rivers and the Fanchons and laurel springs. Famine set in, disease spread and poverty ravaged the region.A rather interesting work, which I had the opportunity to see on one of the capital's TV stations, and which I also bought from one of the local booksellers. After reading it, I decided to use it as a basis for my analysis.
The natural landscape underlies the city; to reflect on its meaning is to come closer to identifying the original reasons for the first settlements and to understand the processes that defined their form of growth. "The natural landscape is the structure and support of the urban landscape", is the central idea around which this research revolves. It proposes to value and protect the natural elements of the city, not only for their functional, environmental and ecological value, but also for their perceptive value, recognizing their contribution in increasing the quality of the urban landscape, which directly affects the feelings of belonging and identity of its inhabitants.
Photodynamic Therapy, also known as PDT, has emerged as a promising antimicrobial therapy. Enterococcus faecalis has been the most prevalent species in cases of endodontic failure. Safe and effective photosensitisers have been studied by many researchers for the photoinactivation of microorganisms. Tannins, from the French tannin, are phenolic compounds, natural colouring agents that are among the major active constituents derived from plants, justifying the traditional use of plants as anti-inflammatory and healing agents. We therefore tested tannin as a photosensitiser associated with photodynamic therapy as an adjunct to endodontic therapy.
In order to supplement the means necessary to carry out their activities, government entities purchase products and services on the market through a bidding process. The purpose of public tenders is to select the most advantageous proposal, ensure fairness among interested parties and promote sustainable development. Studies show that public procurement presents a favorable scenario for the development of micro and small companies; however, in order to achieve local and regional development, local companies need to be able to win tenders. Therefore, this research analyzed the contribution of micro and small companies to local development in the municipality of Porto Velho - RO, based on theoretical constructs and their participation in public procurement. To this end, a study was carried out of the public procurement minutes of the Federal Government's management units based in Porto Velho and a questionnaire was applied to local MSEs. It was concluded that local companies could use this market to increase their revenues and contribute to the development of the municipality by generating more jobs for the population.
The book is divided into four chapters: the first provides a conceptual discussion of geography and territory based on historical materialism, as well as territory and commercial relations and power; the second presents the process of territorialization of the wholesale trade in Palmas-TO and the geography of the Atacadão, Makro and Assai/Extra commercial groups, based on the geo-history of the companies; the third, through interviews with former traders in Palmas, describes the power of the wholesale trade in Palmas and the clash with local commerce since its arrival and discusses the importance and power of commerce in the organization of the territory; the fourth, also through interviews with company employees, sought to survey the relations between capital and labour in the wholesale trade in Palmas and the process of controlling the territory from the workers' way of life. The main result was that commercial companies use the power of capital to exploit their employees' labor power in order to build their "geography of places".
Automation comprises techniques applied to a given process to make it more efficient and productive, agile and effective, minimising human interference in these processes. The creation of automatic systems allows equipment or devices to be controlled by means of electro-electronic devices such as microcomputers, mobile devices, among others. As technology continues to evolve, human beings increasingly feel the need to integrate technologies so that simple devices can meet the most varied needs, replacing the various components used to integrate with the environment with a centralised control system capable of manipulating various variables in the environment. Robotics is an educational and technological branch that encompasses computers, robots and computing, which deals with systems made up of automatic mechanical parts controlled by integrated circuits, making motorised mechanical systems, controlled manually or automatically by electrical circuits. Machines can be said to be alive, but at the same time they are an imitation of life, they are nothing more than connected wires and mechanisms, all of which together make up a robot.
This book is a refined selection of suggestive texts by authors of social thought, known as classics in sociology, with the ultimate aim of contributing to the understanding and debate around theories and all the procedures that enable sociological work. Marx, Durkheim and Weber are brought into this proposal, exploring concepts and analyses of the social, whose usefulness is essential. In sociology, theory is an instrument for understanding reality. When we try to make generalizations or laws about a given reality, we have a theory, a way of understanding reality. In order to better understand the theories that underpin social issues, this text seeks to present the main statements of the main classical authors.
Newcastle Disease (ND) is a disease of viral aetiology that spreads rapidly and affects various species of domestic and wild birds. Among these species, the domestic pigeon (Columba livia) has been incriminated as a host and spreader of the disease not only to production birds, but also to wild birds. Little is known about the ability of pigeons previously infected with a pathogenic strain of Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV) to transmit the disease to chickens. In view of this, and considering that Brazilian poultry farming plays an important role in the country's trade balance, it is imperative to begin studies aimed at expanding knowledge about the epizootiology of NDV, linking pigeons and chickens subjected to experimental infection and vaccination against strains of NDV. With this information, the real role played by the pigeon in the epidemiological chain of ND can be measured, especially with regard to the spread of the disease to chickens, as well as adding information with regard to immunoprophylaxis measures, enabling better control of the disease.
Do we sound different when we speak a foreign language? This book presents the results of a study dedicated to answering this question. When we speak, our voice carries a lot of information in addition to the linguistic content of what we want to communicate. So when we speak a foreign language, compared to our mother tongue, we can change our voices, even if unconsciously. This study sought to verify differences between the voices of bilingual Brazilian speakers when speaking English compared to Portuguese. It also investigated whether possible voice changes were perceptually detected by listeners who were also Brazilian and bilingual. The results showed that some speakers have quite distinct characteristics between the languages and that many of these differences are perceived by listeners.
Given the cultural, socio-economic and geographical peculiarities of the quilombola community of Pixaim (Piaçabuçu - AL), the Theory of Transcultural Care and Ethno-nursing emerged as the most appropriate theoretical/methodological framework to meet the objective of analyzing the diversities of the conceptions of health/disease held by the women of this community. Through the researcher's five-month stay in the community, it was possible to identify how distant professional care is from cultural aspects, leaving preventive care and treatment of illnesses to the responsibility of popular knowledge passed down from generation to generation. Nurses must understand that social inequalities/iniquities affect access to health services, which is why these women take responsibility and become protagonists in perpetuating popular care for their health, that of their family and the group they belong to.
Normally, in veterinary practice, wounds that will heal by second intention are protected using artificial dressings, which basically consist of gauze impregnated with emollient or antiseptic substances. Various studies have been carried out to find a substance that reduces the effects of contamination and favours the healing process. Considering the concern to offer alternatives to speed up the healing process in small animals, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of two herbal medicines: calendula (Calendula officinalis) and sunflower oil (Helianthus annus) on wounds that healed by second intention by evaluating the clinical evolution, microbiological and histopathological aspects.

Nowadays, agriculture is of great importance. It contributes to food security, boosts national economies and helps create jobs worldwide. Compost is a fertilizer formed by fermenting organic debris with mineral matter. Composting makes it possible to recycle organic waste and obtain compost for one's own agricultural needs.Coffee production is a crop of major economic importance in many parts of the world. However, some crops are often confronted with insect pests that can cause considerable damage to plants and reduce yields. Insect pests can belong to different orders, each with its own specific characteristics and modes of attack. Understanding the main orders of insect pests of fruit trees is essential for implementing effective protection and management measures, to minimize crop losses and preserve crop health.
Over the years, school drop-out rates have been alarmingly high in the country's educational institutions. In the subsequent technical courses at the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IF-SC), the high dropout rates have attracted attention. In addition to wasting public resources, the institution is not fully meeting its main objective, which is to raise the level of education of the population, demonstrating that action is needed to reverse this situation. With this in mind, the aim of this study was to understand the reasons that lead students to drop out of subsequent technical courses at IF-SC - Campus Criciúma. The specific objectives were to analyse the socio-economic profile of the students who dropped out and the profile of the students who remained; to identify the different reasons that lead students to drop out and that are not included in the Institutional Development Plan (IDP) and to present elements for the institution and staff to rethink the potential for change in their practices.
Every text, every piece of research has a unique history. It is the result of a constant process of choices and conflicts that give birth to an idea. This text is the fruit of a path taken, of a lived experience, of research carried out over five years, from 2003 to 2007, which were dedicated to understanding, to unveiling the social practice of the Bahá'ís in Brazil; five years of lived experiences and observations within the community being researched. Paradoxically, this text is both plural and unique. Plural because it contains thoughts, reflections and contrasts during these years of research, because it includes a little bit of each subject researched, whether through interviews or observations. Unique, since it specifies part of a social reality developed in the daily lives of a portion of our society, because it has intrinsic historicity, thus portraying a lived, experienced reality.
Increasing the productivity of teak (Tectona grandis L.f.) has been one of the concerns of the production sector, which involves, above all, the choice of locations, genotypes and the adoption of appropriate management regimes for growing the species. This book will be a benchmark in the historical process of its cultivation, as we are proposing, using and demonstrating the effectiveness of less empirical methods, such as Hierarchical Process Analysis (AHP), for choosing suitable sites for cultivation, based on the ecological and silvicultural requirements of the species, based on climatic, edaphic and physiographic variables. It is aimed at teachers, researchers, extension workers, students, forestry engineers and technicians, forestry entrepreneurs, foresters and other interested parties. To carry out this work, we have the support of the Mato Grosso Research Support Foundation - FAPEMAT, the National Scientific and Technological Council - CNPq, IFMT Campus Cáceres-Prof. Olegário Baldo, the Federal University of Viçosa, the Mato Grosso Reforesters Association, the Mato Grosso State Planning Department, forestry companies, professionals and professors from various institutions.
This book reflects the desire to highlight the trajectories of teachers and to demonstrate, in dialogue with these subjects, that teaching in Early Childhood Education involves dimensions that escape scientific objectivity and tension the discourse of technical rationality that permeates many discussions in the field of the teaching profession. Affections, relationships, care, values, aesthetics, commitment, the moral and ethical dimension of the work of teachers of babies and young children help to make up ways of being in the teaching profession and should not be considered unprofessional elements, as can be inferred from the narratives discussed throughout the chapters.
This paper analyzes and exposes the existing deficiencies in the Territorial Plan for Integral Development for Living Well in the Department of Cochabamba 2021-2022, in the areas of health and environment. Thus, a description is presented, then recommendations to finally establish participatory mechanisms for inclusion in the Territorial Plan of Integral Development for Living Well in the Department of Cochabamba 2021- 2025, presenting guidelines for the attention and solution of the problem, considering the sustainable endogenous development, capable of transforming society based on the reconquest of traditions and cultural knowledge; since there is no mention and less a territorial planning, land use and less development, to ensure compliance with the beautiful thing that is mentioned: Integral development in harmony with Mother Earth to eliminate poverty.
The research in question aims to analyze the environmental and social parameters in the cities of Guaratinguetá, Pindamonhangaba and Taubaté. This study has five sections. The first is the Introduction, which presents each of the themes that will be addressed, as well as the objectives, delimitation, relevance and organization of the work. The second section presents the literature review, which looks at work as human production; in this way it develops the themes associated with the research, such as economic growth, environmental sustainability and regional development linked to public policies and their social and environmental applicability. The third section describes the method adopted in the research, the areas in which it was carried out and the data collection techniques. The fourth section shows the results through tables and graphs in order to illustrate and weigh up the data analyzed. The fifth section concludes the study with the final considerations and the results of the research, followed by the bibliographical references.
This paper presents the plantation economy and local development in the Buzi group in the Kalehe territory of eastern DR Congo. In this region, land tenure as a factor of economic production is the subject of confrontation between natives and non-natives over land on the bangs of concessions/plantations. As the land in this region is fertile and the specific geographical conditions make it highly suitable for cultivation, most contemporary plantations are made up of former coffee plantations and cattle farms established in colonial times. We have set ourselves the following objectives: to take stock of concessions and development in Buzi; to determine how the plantation economy influences local development in Buzi; and to propose ways and means of improving the contribution of farming on concessions to local development in the Buzi group.
Corporate governance is a fundamental concern in an increasingly competitive environmentincreasingly competitive environment subject to fluctuating pressures. Governance usually refers to the institutional and relational arrangements, sometimes complex and not always explicit, by which an organization operates and is regulated. Like any social phenomenon, it can be presented through the multiple "lenses" offered by the various human sciences. Thus, when it comes to governance, the jurist would detail the institutional provisions, the economist would focus on supply and demand, while the psychosociologist would be interested in the evolution of mentalities, in the stakeholders' centers of interest. Among these interests is the satisfaction of needs through remuneration.
The synthesis of critical works by Victor Hugo, Denis Saurat and Alain Decaux, provided a starting point and theoretical support for the subsequent development of our contribution in the form of a literary analysis applied to a selected corpus in order to explain and put into practice general considerations, while drawing on our knowledge of Orthodox theology. In the light of our research, verse analysis highlights the important religious dimension of Victor Hugo's poetic expression: the poet-prophet has the certainty of God's existence and the awareness necessary to think and act according to the principles of Christian morality. As far as the poet-prophet's mission is concerned, we have deduced that he campaigns for the punishment of those who do not believe in God and do not agree to carry out His will. His work is to work for social progress, to defend truth, justice, freedom and faith wherever they are threatened, to rekindle courage and lift hearts. Beyond that, poetry is nothing but empty noise and a rhetorical exercise.
