The work carried out by staff/workers who provide services in laboratories is constantly exposed to various risks with different intensity and transmissibility characteristics arising from specific activities. And due to the great variability or multiplicity of activities, operational and organizational procedures existing in each sector of the laboratory environment, this weakens this class of professionals, who are often marginalized from the attentive eyes of public authorities. For these reasons, there was a need to study the physical, operational and organizational characteristics of the laboratory environment that provides services for the physical-chemical and microbiological analysis of water and effluent samples, in order to subsequently draw up a technical-scientific and educational biosafety manual in conjunction with its technical staff, so as to address the technical and operational concerns and doubts of this class of professionals.
With life becoming increasingly urbanised, society is faced with diseases that used to be characterised as mainly rural, where mosquitoes and other animals are also migrating to urban areas. Dengue, as a re-emerging virus in Brazil, has returned with greater force, where new serotypes have been discovered and Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever has emerged. The aim of this study was to assess the approach to dengue with 5 teachers from 3 public schools in Districts IV, II and VI of Fortaleza, according to the low, medium and high incidence of the disease, respectively. Initially, the schools were visited. Subsequently, the contents of the textbooks used by the schools participating in the research were analysed, followed by the application of a questionnaire with open and structured questions to Science and Biology teachers from the same institutions.
Over the last few decades, Accounting Applied to the Public Sector (CASP) has undergone profound changes, mainly due to the expansion of social control, the demand for transparency in government spending and advances in government accountability. Thus, the general aim of this book is to carry out a comparative analysis between Brazilian and Canadian Public Sector Accounting, highlighting their main characteristics, similarities and differences. This book is recommended for accounting, business administration and economics professionals. It is also recommended for researchers in the field of Public Accounting, Comparative Accounting and Public Administration.
There are many cases of sexual violence against children and adolescents in the state of Pará, and this situation has become a cause of great concern for those engaged in tackling this type of violence. Through data collected from one of the most widely circulated newspapers in the state of Pará - O Diário do Pará newspaper, in 2010 and 2014, we sought to find out about the incidence of sexual violence in the state, specifying the gender of the victims, their relationship with the abuser and the places where it occurs most frequently in the state of Pará. Through weekly visits to the Tancredo Neves Cultural Foundation of Pará (CENTUR), data was collected and then transformed into tables to be analysed. Our research confirmed the sad reality of these children and adolescents in our society, and there are already actions to tackle them, but there is still much to be done. On this basis, greater dissemination of information about government actions to prevent and combat abuse is indispensable and increasingly necessary, as is encouraging local communities to report cases.
In Brazil, high blood pressure (HBP) affects around 15 to 20% of the population over the age of 18. The aim of this study was to measure blood pressure (BP) and assess body mass index in young university students, as well as to provide information on preventative measures. 250 student volunteers were selected and an electronic blood pressure monitor was used to measure BP. Most of the participants were sedentary (52.8%) and 16% were overweight. The BP measurements showed that approximately 21% of the volunteers had borderline BP or grade 1 hypertension. Early detection and ongoing treatment are priority measures that should be adopted to reduce the morbidity and mortality caused by hypertension.
The fundamental causes of poverty and wealth have always been of such knowledge that many men and women throughout the world die of envy. But groping around for lack of specifics, some in their thoughts or opinions believe that both are matters of heredity. While others say that they are the logical results of choices and habits applied over the long term. These are the arguments that the majority of human beings around the world put forward when it comes to poverty and wealth. In this book, we're going to reveal what each of the aforementioned categories does on a daily basis, so that anyone reading this can find their answer, and also discover the genuine causes that give rise to poverty and wealth. Because these two subjects are constantly the subject of debate and discussion around the world, the author, as a professional entrepreneur, decided to shed some light on them. For some, wealth is diabolical, which means that anyone who is rich is also satanic.
Why teach mathematics explicitly? This is the question we seek to answer in this book. In it, we present the results of an experiment we carried out in the third year of primary school in March 2017. The results were approved by a jury of specialists in the field. For this reason, we have included them here with the aim of promoting the teaching paradigm, which has been abandoned by the Congolese education system in favor of the learning paradigm. However, the results of the present study prove that explicit teaching based on the teaching paradigm is an effective method that enables the majority of pupils, even the most disadvantaged, to succeed. Studies have shown that methods based on socio-constructivist approaches are ineffective. If we want to improve the flagging Congolese education system, we need to return to a paradigm whose effectiveness is widely recognized by empirical research. It's a mistake to evolve with methods that don't enable students to learn effectively.
This book is the result of the need to share the results of a research project. I see it as a workshop (CORRÊA, 1998, 2000 & 2006) (PREVE, 1997) (PREVE, 2010) (CORRÊA & PREVE, 2011). The notes written in diaries, based on the experiences of education with the deaf, make up the territories to which I invite the reader to walk with me. These notes reveal the path travelled by a person interested in discovering the answers to their disturbing questions. The processes of learning Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS), the process of learning LIBRAS with deaf children, the disappointments in the classroom, the encounter with the limitations of "teaching/learning", "the reinvention of the pleasure of learning and sharing knowledge with (or without) deaf people, the reflections with the supervisor of internships and workshops, the strangeness of the processes of subjectivation in the training of educators, the encounter with the question "how to present a concept in Science if there are no signs in LIBRAS? " and the practice of producing and sharing workshops (CORRÊA, 2000 & 2006) reveal some directions along the way.
"Prison in France must cease to be what it is: a humiliation for the nation and punishment added to punishment. Prison is not designed to destroy human beings, but to prepare them for the future by bringing them back into the body of our national community. Prisoners are part of that community, even if we can't see them. Robert Badinter 4th Parliamentary Meeting on Prisons 13 December 2007.
The thesis that gave rise to this book sought to identify the specificities of the research participants' trajectories and advance the understanding of the process of professional insertion of young adults with at least a master's degree, in its multideterminations. The analysis, enhanced by the methodological choice of biographical interviews, sought to understand the phenomenon under investigation not in terms of cause and consequence, but rather to understand the specificities of the factors that characterise the different paths taken by these young people.
Are women really discriminated against in the Côte d'Ivoire labor market? Gender-based analysis in urban areas highlights this problem at a critical period in the country's history. To this end, a number of variables that may help to better identify discrimination against women among the unemployed and the employed population are determined using data from job surveys and job offers under the pre-discrimination and market discrimination options. First, the literature review indexes economic theories of human capital and labor market segmentation. Secondly, the indices and econometric models induced are differentiated according to the nature of the data used. Finally, the nature of the factors constraining women's integration into the labour market shows a predominance of labour market segmentation variables, based on pre-discrimination.
The present research addressed the deficiencies in the judicial response in cases of gender violence, To this end, it is defined as a theoretical study with a qualitative approach, since violence against women is understood as a violation of human rights and as a form of discrimination against women and will be understood as any act of gender violence. To this end, it is necessary to study the judicial criteria for determining the appropriate treatment that victims should receive, effective preventive protection by the State, as well as structural issues. in the justice system and the deficiencies, irregularities and omissions in the investigation, prosecution and punishment of cases of gender violence and the actions of the judicial authorities. Consequently, there are still gaps in the judicial response to cases of gender violence, in terms of effective prevention, protection, prosecution and punishment of cases, access to the justice system, inadequate processing is based on the performance of the judicial authorities to process cases, and inadequate processing based on the actions of the judicial authorities.
The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is recognized as an information system (IS) application that bridges the gap between higher-level enterprise management (ERP) and lower-level automation and supervision (SCADA). This study presents an innovative approach focused on organizational and informational integration for the implementation of an MES system in an industrial environment. It conducts an in-depth analysis of the existing information system, developing a thorough understanding of its components, their interactions and identified gaps. In addition, it proposes a comprehensive methodology that rigorously frames the main components of the MES implementation process, from the design phase through to the operational phase. In addition to this theoretical basis, the study also integrates a practical dimension through a case study conducted within a flour mill. The aim is to provide concrete information on the implementation of an MES and to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed methodology through this practical validation.
Like most of the states and peoples of Eurasia in the 13th century, Japan did not escape the Mongol invasion. The island position of the country, separated from the Eurasian mainland by sea, did not stop the Mongols' conquering impulse, who in 1274 and 1281 undertook two large-scale invasions of the Japanese islands, where for the first time they conducted not the usual land military operation with highly maneuverable cavalry formations, but a naval one, which would have been impossible without relying on the potential of the conquered countries with maritime traditions, which included China and Korea. The attack of the Yuan army was not a surprise to Japan. The valuable source "Instruction to Foolish Children about Hatiman" ("Hatiman gudo:kin") and other sources testify that the Japanese were not only aware of, but also prepared for a possible attack. To reconstruct the Mongol attack on Japan, the "Instruction," created a decade after the Mongol invasion, despite its ideological and religious-mythological coloration, contains valuable information on the Mongol invasions of the Japanese islands in 1274 and 1281.
The vertiginous development of teaching in the province of Espiritu, begins with the preparation of nurses who fulfilling their administrative, teaching and assistance functions, join the teaching of their knowledge to future graduates, in the building currently occupied by the Municipal Assembly located on the Boulevard, later the premises where the Provincial Health Sector is located is enabled, In the meantime, the construction of what would become the Polytechnic of Health was carried out and due to the flow of students, it was decided by the competent bodies to change it to become a branch of Medical Sciences, currently it is a teaching block of the UCM in Sancti Spíritus. The study that is carried out emphasizes the performance of the educational community, significant events are described, led by teachers and students; which reaffirms the importance of the educational teaching work, in the formation of students in the nursing career.
This book discusses the judicialisation of health in Brazil in the supplementary sphere, presenting a brief history of the attempt to realise the right to health in our country, as well as presenting mediation as an alternative to the growing number of lawsuits involving the relationship between private health service providers and insured people. The evolution of mediation on the national scene is fundamental and the consequence of a new way of promoting citizens' rights, and is even an express matter in the new Code of Civil Procedure. It has thus become a recent instrument that should be increasingly integrated and studied, in its consequences, as an alternative for the moment when the judiciary is overloaded with the most diverse litigation.
In recent years, studies into cultural manifestations have pointed to the diversity of rhythms, colours, sounds, gestures and words. This research sought to discuss a popular folklore from Pernambuco known as Cavalo Marinho. The aim was to understand how the changes that the players have experienced up to the present day, especially in the reduced duration of the performances, have transformed the relationship between the practice of this folguedo and public institutions, as well as the changes brought about by the presence of women. In this way, by re-discussing culture and cultural manifestations, the book is aimed at teachers, researchers, academics, artists and all those with an interest or passion for learning about the richness of Brazil's popular folklore.
Premature ejaculation is a sexual problem that affects many men around the world. It can be a source of frustration, anxiety and dissatisfaction for both the individual and his partner. This book aims to raise awareness, educate and inform about natural solutions to control premature ejaculation, and offer renewed hope to all those facing this challenge.
This book is an introduction to the study of Islamic finance. The author's reasoning focuses mainly on the presentation of the financial instruments in use. This is done by clarifying the historical framework and setting out the fundamental principles summarised in the 3P rule (Share-Lose-Profit). Emphasis is placed on traditional instruments (Murabaha, Al-Salam, Al-Ijara and Al-Istisnaa) and participative instruments (Musharaka and Mudharaba) to give readers an overview of the mechanisms for allocating funds to investment projects.
This publication shows Flaubert's interest in Greece Flaubert brought to Greece a personal mythology, whose interests and even structure needed Greece The pilgrimage to Greece was a quest for something relatively personal Flaubert seeking a homeland meant splendid things, contrasting with the greyness of the landscape of the French provinces. He wanted to bring Greece back to life, he had to restore it to himself and his readers, his experience of Greece in books and places and his language to express it would do the trick.
The work, the result of a master's degree research project, deals with the teaching of writing in the handouts of the Cecierj Foundation/Cederj Consortium Social Pre-Vestibular. The dialogical conception of language from the Bakhtinian circle is the foundation used to reflect on linguistic education. The aim of the work is to analyse the corpus, through didactic texts and activities that propose them, in order to observe the vision of language, genre of discourse and written production - and the effectiveness of teaching dissertative-argumentative texts; as well as to discuss the history, organization and working conditions of teachers in the pre-university entrance exam. The results point to the incidence of language understood as structure, since the text is seen as textual materiality unrelated to discursive aspects. Conceptions of language and text fluctuate, as does the deficient composition of the "entrance exam dissertation" written production tasks. The teachers are called "tutors", hired without labor rights, even though they work in person and at a distance. In this sense, the investigations focus on linguistic issues in the handouts, as well as problematizing the situation to which teachers are subjected in the PVS.
Vitamin B1 has the molecular formula C12H17N4OS. It is a metabolic precursor of thiamine pyrophosphate, the form activated in the liver, which enables carbohydrates to be converted into energy and ensures proper functioning of the nervous and muscular systems. Synthesized by bacteria, plants and fungi, it is involved in energy metabolism, mood regulation, heart failure and muscle pain. Vitamin B2 is required for the synthesis of flavin adenine dinucleotide and flavin mononucleotide. It is most often isolated from milk as lactoflavin, from eggs as ovoflavin and from liver as hepatoflavin. It is effective against fatigue, supports the nervous system, helps maintain red blood cells and is involved in iron metabolism. It is also involved in keratin synthesis.
Since the emergence of the new coronavirus, the covid-19 pandemic has caused over 140 million cases and three million deaths worldwide. Many fundamental questions remain as to the effectiveness of vaccines against COVID-19 in real-life situations, which can only be answered by vaccine efficacy studies conducted after their introduction. This document is a synthesis of numerous references on the immunological aspects of SARS-COV-2 infection and vaccination.
For most women, breast cancer and its frequent amputation encourage the development of negative consequences for their body image and, consequently, their sexuality. The breast is closely related to female identity, maturity, sexuality and motherhood, so the impact of mastectomy on women seems to be evident, and challenges emerge for perioperative nursing. With this in mind, we have produced this book, the main aim of which is to integrate and analyse data from studies carried out, contributing to a better understanding of the current situation and promoting the increasing quality of the care provided. The results of the studies show that body image impairment is directly related to the experience of sexuality, and that the more mutilating the surgery, the greater the body image impairment. In this context, nursing interventions, particularly of an informative nature, are extremely important as they facilitate adaptive processes.
This study was carried out as part of the Production Engineering project of the COPPE/UFRJ postgraduate program, under the Environmental Management research line. As a case study, we looked at a small imperial topaz mine located in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, which was being inspected by the State Environmental Agency, with the risk of its possible closure. A partnership agreement was signed between the company and the Mining Engineering Department of the School of Mines at the Federal University of Ouro Preto, in order to implement the model proposed here. The result was acceptance of the proposed measures by the Environmental Agency, which renewed the company's operating license.
Today, artificial intelligence encompasses a wide variety of subfields. These range from areas of general purpose, learning and perception, to more specific ones such as speech recognition, playing chess, proving mathematical theorems, writing poetry and diagnosing diseases. Artificial intelligence synthesizes and automates tasks that are in principle intellectual and is therefore potentially relevant to any field of human intellectual activities. In this sense, it is a genuinely universal field. Artificial intelligence is a new form of problem solving, including expert systems, robot handling and control, and processors, which attempts to integrate knowledge into such systems, in other words, an intelligent system capable of writing its own program. An expert system defined as a programming structure capable of storing and using knowledge about a given area that translates into its ability to learn. Similarly, AI can be considered as the ability of machines to use algorithms, learning from data.
Non-muscle-invasive bladder tumours (NMIBTs) are tumours with an unpredictable course. Endoscopic and histological prognostic factors have been identified, but remain insufficient, leading us to propose new molecular prognostic factors. 40 TVNIM were collected over a 6-year period (2008-2013), and immunohistochemical studies were carried out on E-cadherin, an intercellular adhesion molecule, and ¿-cathenin, a molecule associated with E-cadherin. An inverse correlation between E-cadherin on the one hand, and stage (p=0.001), grade (p=0.0000000), recurrence (p=0.0000000), progression (p=0.01), SSR (p=0.00000001) and PFS (p=0.01) on the other, was detected. There was also a correlation between beta-cathenin and stage (p=0.05), grade (p=0.02) and recurrence (p=0.02).The negativity of these two antibodies would make it possible to "screen" high-risk NMVTs, which could benefit from closer monitoring and/or more aggressive treatment.
This document is a collection of lecture notes from the "Distributed Software Engineering" module taught to students in the Computer Engineering stream at ENIS (Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Sfax, Tunisia). It presents the main concepts of the OMG CORBA standard. In the first part, the actual course notes are given. It consists of seven chapters covering the essential notions surrounding CORBA technology. In the second part, a set of tutorials is given. These consist of four tutorials of increasing complexity, applying the various concepts covered in the lecture section.
This book seeks to discuss perceptions of Afro-Brazilian religions, more specifically candomblé and umbanda, in Diamantina (MG) in the 1940s. It also proposes to investigate the relationship between these religions and their practitioners and the adherents of other religions present in the city. Using the press, especially the local newspapers Voz de Diamantina and A Estrela Polar, it was possible to reconstruct part of the trajectories of the Afro-Brazilian religions and their adherents, highlighting the importance of these religious practices for their participants, as well as for the preservation of the memory and culture of the local black population. This study also highlights important aspects of social relations in Diamantin, such as religious and cultural conflicts and disputes over religious hegemony in the city.
In this dissertation, we analyze Cândido de Figueiredo's linguistic thinking, which was often rigorous and normative in its descriptive approach to different grammatical phenomena. The first, between Cândido de Figueiredo and Paulino de Brito, deals with the placement of clitic pronouns, from a comparative perspective between Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese; the second, between Cândido de Figueiredo and Heráclito Graça, covers issues of morphology and syntax, again within a normative framework, which points to certain innovative uses in the literary writing of Brazilian authors as errors. Our aim is to examine Cândido de Figueiredo's speeches and place them in the historical, social and cultural context of his time, so as to enable a more accurate assessment of his conservative ideas.
