A theoretical review of the topic was conducted and an attempt was made to understand, through the discourse of two female gender studies teachers working in the field of preschool education, their perceptions of the possibilities and role of fairy tales in this debate. The meanings attached by the preschool teachers who had more focused contact with gender relations in fairy tales were highlighted, and the main gender representations contained in classic fairy tales were identified and presented. Through interviews with educators, we tried to find out why it is important to think about gender from kindergarten onwards and how fairy tales contribute to these discussions. On the one hand, we will analyse how fairy tales play a role in the social life of children and how they can be deliberately used by teachers to discuss this topic.
This book contains three articles which, despite having different formats, deal with translation. The first evaluates lexically creative items in Spanish translations of João Guimarães Rosa's novel, Grande Sertão: Veredas, more specifically the solutions found by the translators with regard to non-dictionary terms in the Spanish language, such as yagunzo and sertón, from a cultural point of view. The study is guided by ValentÃn GarcÃa Yebra's theoretical reflections on translation, as well as the linguistic and translation theories of Antoine Berman and Georges Mounin. Also contributing to this article is the study carried out by Prof Dr Walnice Nogueira Galvão, in The Forms of the False; as well as Rosa's own testimonies recorded by Günter Lorenz. The second analyses how certain difficulties faced by translators when translating João Guimarães Rosa's Grande Sertão: Veredas (1956) into Spanish were resolved, in terms of the author's different style, more specifically the use of the subjunctive and syntax. The third presents an annotated translation of Daniel Mayer's short story El Ãngel.
This book is the result of a series of reflections made over the last few years that call into question recent processes, especially in large cities. Among the important movements discussed in this book is peri-urbanisation. A recent process on the Brazilian scene, peri-urbanisation has been causing structural, social, economic and landscape changes in rural areas as a result of the penetration of urban activities, people and interests into areas traditionally marked by the presence of the countryside. The result has increasingly been the formation of multi-functional spaces in which rural and urban coexist, making the space deeply complex.
This work is the result of a research project for the completion of my degree and aims to carry out a study of Mozambican poetry, more precisely black poetry of Portuguese expression, that poetry which in the 1950s was characterised by conveying the marks of pan-Africanism and blackness. In this work, we deal with the poetry of Noémia de Sousa, in a study based on her book entitled Sangue Negro (2001), published by the Association of Mozambican Writers (AEMO). The intention of this work, which was transformed into a book, was to verify and analyse the marks of pan-Africanism and blackness in Noémia de Sousa's poetry, because it is known that this poet was a Mozambican voice that very early on asserted itself on the literary scene of her country and her cry went beyond Mozambican borders, her voice, carried through her poems, spread to many countries in Africa and beyond.
The mangrove ecosystem is a transitional environment between land and sea, established in areas under the continuous action of the tides. They are one of the richest environments on the planet and also one of the most fragile in the face of anthropogenic action, representing vitality for various species of birds, molluscs, fish, crustaceans and others. Mangroves have a high fishing yield and represent the basis of subsistence for a large part of the populations that live around the ecosystem. The term "state of the art" is a translation from the English language, with the aim of surveying what is understood about a subject based on research carried out in a given area. Therefore, a study of the media's view of mangroves contributes to our knowledge of how society conveys this information. Thus, the State of the Art is "an exposition of the level of knowledge and development of a field or issue." From this perspective, the focus of the research is essentially exploratory, based on documents in the public domain.
The evolution and composition of Alagoas' GDP between 2000 and 2012 demonstrates the role of the public sector in this trajectory. The research is structured in three parts: a literature review covering the implementation of regional policies in Brazil; a second chapter presenting the economic situation in Alagoas; and finally a chapter showing the evolution of Alagoas' GDP and the weight of the state in its composition.
Dance plays a fundamental role in the teaching and learning process in early childhood education, as it contributes directly to children's development, providing countless possibilities for experience. Through dance activities, children discover various ways of moving, building concepts, ideas and actions. By making movements, children get to know their bodies and their limitations, facing challenges and interacting with other children, expressing feelings and communicating through body language, contributing to both physical and intellectual development and capacity. In this way, the teaching of dance becomes of paramount importance in the school environment. This book is based on discussing the limits and possibilities of introducing dance teaching as a learning method in early childhood education and its importance in the school curriculum and pupil development. Therefore, the study becomes of paramount importance to emphasise dance in early childhood education for better improvement and resourcefulness.
The aim of this work was to develop the main constituents of essential oils, in this case monoterpene ketones (menthone and pulegone). The aim was twofold: to develop the preparative aspect of the reactions without neglecting the application of the synthesized products. The first objective was met by obtaining different series of p-menthan derivatives of potential interest in organic synthesis. As a result, we obtained p-menthan alcohols with three to four asymmetric centers of well-defined configuration. Indeed, we have shown that the action of allylic, aromatic and saturated organomagnesiums on menthone leads stereoselectively to p-menthan-3-ol derivatives with axial hydroxyl groups. Condensation of the same magnesium series with pulegone produces the corresponding alcohols with equatorial hydroxyl groups. Still using menthone, we observed the stereoselective formation of epoxides by the action of m-chloroperbenzoic acid on 3-allyl-p-menthan-3-ols, which may be the starting point for the preparation of heterocycles.
The information is a clap of thunder that resounds at the presidential palace, adding to the information of the mole, to the probable arrival of the leader of the Islamists, to the mysterious helicopter which would have approached the palace, all being crowned when Ali Sariati contacts Tarhouni to ask him the source of the orders he executes and he replies "I receive my orders from GOD". Samir Tarhouni explains that he dropped this formula without thinking, due to lack of response, because according to him, his reaction was on impulse. But for those around the President, there is no doubt it is the rebellion of an Islamist branch of the security apparatus. This work takes up the Tunisian revolution, its deep origins, its major stages, its successes and its failures, and in parallel the journey of Tunisian political Islam under the old regime and during this revolution.
Thinking of the human encounter as a key element in the hospital environment, more than a humanization challenge, is an exercise in shifting concepts. Caring as something that transcends medical procedures needs to be incorporated by health professionals. Within the humanist movement, we have the Person-Centered Approach, formulated by C. Rogers. When using this approach, the importance of the empathic encounter in a relationship of mutual growth becomes clear. Music, from this perspective, is seen as something capable of promoting encounters, re-signifying environments, opening up channels of communication and aiding rehabilitation processes. In this book, two musical experiences in two hospital contexts are described. The first talks about the use of music in hospital visits promoted by "MedClown" (the Program for Humanizing Medical Training). The other refers to "Musicando a Brinquedoteca", a project where hospitalized children experienced musical activities. In both experiences, moments of playfulness and imagination led to unique moments of musical enjoyment and human encounter.
We have outlined the concept of the independent international magistrate. They are called upon to apply the law in complete independence, which is why we have backed this up with a series of guarantees of independence that can enable them to dispense justice with complete peace of mind, in particular the method of appointment, the oath, the term of office, security of tenure and dismissal, incompatibilities, etc., on the one hand; and on the other hand their personal, functional and institutional independence. However, this principle is subject to certain limits that are well defined in several international legal instruments: the independence of judges and courts is never based on a model of radical separation. Thus, inspired by the ideas of Judge Mohammed Bedjaoui, who was President of the World Court, and Professor Alain Pellet, we believe that for the sound and fair administration of international justice, the legality of the decisions of the Security Council, which has been exposed as an obstacle to justice, must be reviewed.
Artisanal Garimpo do RS: Saberes e Fazeres is the start of a journey through the traditional and culturally significant handicrafts of southern Brazil. From the north to the south of the state, the cultural expedition sought out the master craftsmen of the most varied natural raw materials and traditional techniques of Rio Grande do Sul. Garimpo das Artes is one of the ways to identify and promote traditional handicrafts in Rio Grande do Sul. This is the first edition, which has been put together in partnership with artisans who work with their souls and seek, in addition to surviving with their craft, a stimulus for understanding their work as a catalyst for change in their lives and in their communities.
The aim of this book was to evaluate the efficiency of the complex formed between citric acid and ferric ions (ferricitrate) as an inducer of the photo-Fenton reaction for the treatment of landfill leachate. The leachate samples were collected at the Regional Urban Solid Waste Treatment Centre, located in the municipality of Giruá (RS). This leachate is characterised by high colour and turbidity, as well as high organic content expressed in high values of chemical and biochemical oxygen demand, total organic carbon, nitrogenous forms and phosphorus, presenting high polluting potential. The use of the organic ligand aims to improve the efficiency of the photo-Fenton process, since it forms stable and soluble complexes with Fe(III), as well as enabling reactions at a higher pH than traditionally possible.
The political representation of women is an issue that has been gaining ground around the world, with the creation of various international mechanisms that seek to increase gender equality. Despite these efforts, this representation is still low in several countries, including Brazil. Several hypotheses about the causes of this under-representation have been put forward in the literature, including the unequal funding of electoral campaigns by men and women. This work was born out of an effort to understand the role that campaign financing plays in women's political representation. We analysed the 2014 elections to the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul in terms of the distribution of private and public funds in the electoral campaigns of 605 candidates.
In addition to the obstacles and difficulties facing the insurance sector in the CIMA zone. Article 13 appears to be one of the arguments that prompted the legislator to intervene. Regulation No. 0001/CIMA/PCMA/PCE/2011 of 11 April 2011 amending and supplementing the provisions of the Insurance Code relating to the underwriting and management of contracts clearly mentions this. Premium payment is an undeniable element in claims management. It stipulates that: the policy takes effect subject to full payment of the premium by the insured. This provision is a response to the many technical failures in the market, such as premium arrears, and reinforces the principle of "NO PREMIUM, NO WARRANTY".
Fear of childbirth is perhaps one of the most debated topics among pregnant women. But isn't it also present in the non-pregnant population? And in males? The younger population may also be afraid of this life event, thus anticipating the fear of the unknown. The aim is not only to answer these questions, but also to contribute to scientific knowledge by demonstrating how psychology can play a fundamental role in obstetrics.
The case of the Bank of Mozambique illustrates how it is possible to progressively bring about changes in management systems and practices in a large African institution - in this case the Central Bank of Mozambique. Over the course of several years, with the help of a team led by the author of this book, but largely thanks to the efforts of its own staff, Banco de Moçambique developed one of the best Management by Objectives systems supported by a strategic planning process in the entire universe of large African organizations. The "SMD" (Performance Improvement System) has revolutionized the management of human resources at this institution, but its implementation has come up against an African management culture that is very adverse to all processes of decentralization and differentiation of individual performance. Overcoming these cultural barriers requires careful change management, but the result is rewarding: an institution with management practices in line with the best international standards, which combines tradition with modernity and serves as an inspiring model in this area for other large organizations in Africa.
The discussion about the importance of teacher training has become a practice raised by theorists who deal with the importance of teaching work. In addition to ongoing training, this discussion also covers initial training, which can take place in higher education degree courses or at secondary level, in the normal course. The Colégio Estadual Humberto de Alencar Castelo Branco - Ensino Médio e Normal, in the municipality of Santa Helena, offers the Teacher Training Course for Early Childhood Education and the Early Years of Primary Education at secondary level, in the Normal mode, with the aim of preparing teachers for Early Childhood Education and Early Years. With regard to the training of these teachers, the question arises as to whether these students are prepared to work in the Early Years, especially in the subject of Science. With this in mind, we propose this investigation, seeking to clarify which training sessions are available throughout the course, which methods are used in these sessions with the students and how they enable the training of students/teachers in training for teaching science.
This paper analyzes the TV series The Walking Dead as a Cultural Pedagogy, from the perspective of Cultural Studies in Education. The study included the analysis of representations and discourses that enshrine certain identity positions and visions of society, such as the fear of losing elements of civilization and human identity, and the examination of metaphors related to the many dilemmas posed for postmodern society. The first seven seasons of the series were analysed and organized into four pedagogical dimensions, named "Pedagogies of Fear of a Lost Childhood and a Distorted Youth", "Pedagogies of Zombies and Monsters", "Pedagogies of Fear of the Other" and "Pedagogies of Fear of the Loss of Civilization and the Apocalypse". Through these pedagogies, we considered the origin of 5 lessons that "teach" fans of this series the importance of "protecting childhood", "educating children", "controlling young people", "distrusting adults" and "cultivating democracy". This approach gives this series a certain critical accent in relation to contemporary issues that call into question the principles invoked to define humanity.
Lawyer Thiago Lucas da Silva Marinho has sought to clearly present the positions on the phenomenon of judicialisation, adopting an expository line with the sole aim of clarifying the systematics of the issue. The aim is to show the reader, through this work, the doctrinal positions and understandings of the Courts that have been built up over time. Here, the author delimits the field of study to the theory of the existential minimum in the face of budgetary rationalisation, defining and establishing its foundations. He then brings to light the recent position of the Federal Supreme Court in its judgement.
Integral education is one of the central elements for training from the perspective of human emancipation. The libertarian, socialist and communist movements at the beginning of the 20th century in Brazil understood comprehensive education not only as the union between technical/manual training and intellectual training or as workers' access to historically accumulated knowledge denied to their class. For these movements, based on Marx and Engels, comprehensive education represented one of the tools for the formation of the revolutionary subject, necessary for the project of overcoming class society. When it was incorporated into various public policies throughout the Brazilian education system, comprehensive education took on a radically opposite meaning, as it came to be understood as a means of inclusion, adaptation and accommodation of subjects to the current social project, as we observed from the analysis of the More Education Programme. By explaining the contradictions surrounding different conceptions of comprehensive education, the aim of this book is to contribute to reflection and the development of educational proposals that are genuinely interested in the emancipation of the working class.
Through this work, we expect to answer the following question: What innovations and technological improvements can be made to the building sector in Niger to make it less energy-intensive and less destructive of the ecosystem? To achieve this, the following activities were carried out: bibliographical research, data collection in the field, data analysis and, finally, project proposal. The book is divided into four main sections. The first part sets out the issues guiding the study and proposes a number of possible solutions. We present a brief overview of the current situation. We then set out the importance of the subject and the expected results. The second part, which is purely theoretical, focuses on a literature review. It presents summaries of the titles that inspired us for this study. We have analysed them, identified the substances we have drawn from them and briefly commented on our results. The third part outlines our method for achieving the expected results. The last part, before the general conclusion, deals with the project itself.
Since its discovery in the 16th century, the Pampas of Rio Grande do Sul - a region located to the south of the Platine Basin, which straddles the borders between Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay - has proved to be a potentially favourable area for agricultural and livestock activities. The development of cattle ranching in Brazil (especially in the state of Rio Grande do Sul) and Uruguay took place far from the Latin American centres of Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. This has led to a certain similarity in the production systems of RS and UY, which have always been connected because of the border. The technical progress of this production was expanded thanks to foreign capital that was interested in exploiting the abundance of primary production in Rio Grande do Sul and Uruguay. This work therefore focuses on the economic development of livestock farming in the south of Brazil and Uruguay between 1914 and 1939, in order to analyse the relationship between the economies of these two countries and foreign capital, which inevitably led to productive changes throughout the agrarian history of these two countries.
This book will serve as a reference tool for any researcher in the field of networking and telecommunications to familiarise themselves with information and communication techniques and to encourage those who wish to enter this field. This work is a demonstration of our knowledge acquired during our training in computer science, specifically in networking and telecommunications, but also a practice of scientific research. This work will also enable the improvement of the information and communication system, both technical and administrative, by means of the media, so that the INSS can exchange information internally on its inter-network. The book is divided into three chapters: The first is on Generalities and Scope; the second is on Analysis and Design of the New System and the final chapter which is the third will focus on Discussions and Recommendations.
This is a case study of the Barbedo de Magalhães personal archive, which essentially contains documentation on the struggle of the people of East Timor against the occupation and their process of self-determination, incorporated into the IASI institution (International Institute for Asian Studies and Interchange). The model proposed for organizing and making accessible the information in this archive is the result of a new post-custodial, informational and scientific paradigm that has been advocated by archivists who are dissatisfied with the previous "classical" approach to archives. According to this model, the archive is seen as a dynamic Information System which, in the light of a new theoretical-methodological framework, requires an organic and functional analysis and characterization of the producer of the information as well as its interactions with the surrounding environment. It is understood that only in this way, by reconstituting the original context in which the information was created/accumulated and preserving the memory of the entire process that gave rise to it, can it be possible to make effective and rigorous use of it, understanding the Information System in all its complexity.
This work analyzes the right to citizenship in prison in Sergipe and discusses how citizenship can be a mechanism for the realization of human rights. The work is the result of the experience of the research project entitled "Profile of Prisoners in the State of Sergipe and Identification of Public Policies for Former Prisoners", funded by the Sergipe State Foundation for Research and Technological Innovation (FAPITEC) between 2012 and 2013. This study was carried out using the qualitative-quantitative method, using data provided by the Public Security Secretariat, as well as information gathered by applying questionnaires in Sergipe prisons. The results made it possible to conclude that the conditions in Sergipe's prisons are inadequate for the prison population and that the democratic component is indispensable if there is to be a change in the way the Penitentiary System is viewed and, consequently, if public policies on social rights are to be drawn up.
The end of the Cold War with the fall of the Berlin Wall marked the end of the period of ideological antagonism. This wind of change has ushered in a new order of things in terms of relations between states, peoples and cultures. The new conflicts are based on identity, because the oppositions are based on lack and the need to assert oneself. This new situation encourages philosophical reflection on the cultural issues conceptualised by interculturality. What is interculturality? How do intercultural skills promote living together? This is the place to show that the acquisition of intercultural skills helps to consolidate living together in an area of ethnic, cultural, religious and political diversity.
