Peoushi, the Long Hair, Custer. That was what Native Americans called him. His story comes from the annals of the West. Not the exaggerated heroism and madness that it would become in Hollywood, but a man doing the work he chose. A professional soldier. And to do the work required the material at hand, men of the Seventh United States Cavalry; men from many nations, speaking different languages and fighting beneath a common flag. With their leader, George Armstrong Custer, Peoushi, they found the fight at a place called Little Big Horn.

The decade long search for one of the world''s most dangerous men, Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman led Mexican and U.S., authorities on a bizarre journey that cemented his infamy in history. Mired in violence and lore, the leader of the Sinaloa cartel escaped prison in 2001 and went on a thirteen year terror spree that ended on February 22, 2014. Lost behind the headline grabbing details is a story of a man''s journey of redemption which provided the facts eluding authorities necessary to capture the monster. Marcos "Killa" Munoz, a former drug dealer and DEA informant, stepped out of the shadows and provided the logistics of the Sonora drug corridor that was the key to ending the reign of terror. While the world waited, one man stepped out the past and helped make history. Woven into the fast paced investigation of multiple agencies'' are the interviews and components that combined to create a path to Guzman''s final bastion. The DEA steps to the forefront of the investigation and uses Marco''s information as a scythe to slice through the red tape of international politics. A journey of human frailty and emotions that became the catalyst for change in the seething world of drugs and violence. His obdurate refusal to remain buried in the past is an amazing story that will never make the headlines. Long forgotten, the "Ghostman" is back with a vengeance.

I wrote this as a tribute to my mother, a humble and gently unassuming housewife and mother who loved and understood everything about life and all of its great mysteries. Although Alzheimer's disease relentlessly and ruthlessly ravaged both her mind and body, her soul remained untouched and pure. This book chronicles her struggles, which certainly impacted the lives of everyone for both the better and the worse. In the end, though, her final lasting lesson was that even in sickness, she still was able to reveal to her loved ones the beauty that surrounds each of us. We learned from her, and for this, we each became better human beings. I wish to share that message of comfort and hope with you, dear reader.
When people think of segregated schools in America, particularly before the historic Brown v. Board of Education decision, cities and towns in the South immediately come to mind. There were, however, segregated schools districts in the North as well. Hillburn, New York is a quiet little village with approximately one thousand residents, just forty miles northwest of New York City. For decades, it was also a community divided by race with two grammar schools. The two schools were dramatically different in size, construction, and programming. The school for the white children had indoor plumbing, a gymnasium, a library, a nurse, and all of the amenities that students would need to succeed. The school for the children of color, by contrast, was small and cramped. Those students had to use outhouses and their physical education took place in the street in front of the school. The separate-but-equal treatment of the Hillburn school children might have continued for a long time if it were not for the efforts of two unlikely champions: Thomas Ulysses Alexander and Thurgood Marshall. Although their individual contributions were over a decade apart, they shared a commitment to equal opportunity. This book tells the story of these two men, one famous and one unknown, and how they changed the lives of the children in Hillburn as well as the course of history.

Heart disease is still the number one killer of both men and women in this country. Captain Belluardo has written a compelling story chronicling a 20 year journey of learning how to completely reversed heart disease by taking complete control of his healthcare following two open heart surgeries. During his journey of learning and research he uncovered the angiogenesis process allowing him to grow new arteries in his heart and replaced seven arterial bypasses. He treated the cause of heart disease and not the symptoms. He used the natural angiogenesis process to grow new arteries in his heart based on animal research and used himself as the animal test subject. No human researcher has ever attempted to force a human heart into ischemia for the purpose of growing new coronary arteries. The story also chronicles his motivation, a love of flying and how he learned to fly a real antique "stick & rudder" airplane. He had to prove to the Federal Aviation Administration with documentation that he had completely reversed his heart disease and pass all the required tests for issuance of an airman's medical certificate. The story contains lessons for the medical community, the aviation community, as well as the general public. This is a story that must be told to expose the truth about treating the cause of heart disease and not the symptoms.

"Seventy-seven Years in Dixie: The Boys in Gray of 61-65" by H.W. Reddick is a poetic, sweeping epic chronicling one young man's experience fighting the Yankees in the American Civil War. Following him through battles and time spent as a prisoner of war, we experience alongside him aching hunger, terror before battle and the humanizing moments that come when, stuck alongside brothers, young soldiers see what makes each of us human. Complete with a series of poems celebrating the heroism of those who fought the war that split the States, we celebrate moments of triumph-- a taste of buttermilk after days of hunger, new shoes in winter and a night's sleep indoors. A testament to those who've fought for our freedoms, "Seventy-Seven Years" is as much an adventure as it is a reminder of our nation's powerful history.

This book is meant to be useful to anyone who is interested in having and working with a large guardian dog. In these pages I hope I have answered many of the questions that surround large guardian dogs and what these great animals are possible of. It is my hope that the reader studies this book before purchasing their first large guardian pup. Training and maintaining a large guardian dog can be very time consuming early in the training stages, but the reward is well worth the peace of mind one will experience for the years that follow. One of the best lessons I have learned is that our large guardian dogs are forgiving of my shortcomings as a herd and dog owner. Often they know and understand more about what is going on than I do. These dogs are endlessly loyal and can be incredibly beneficial and meaningful to you, your family and your farm.
In Translucent Images, author A.E.Dodds explores a series of human conditions as well as all of the possible antidotes. Dividing his fictional accounts of the wayward lives of his unfulfilled characters into short stories, Dodds provides his reader with the full picture of what makes just about every type of person the way that they are. No flaw is buffed or indecency glazed over as these characters are witnessed performing acts that range from the most rapturous expression of human love to the most vile and heartless contemplation of murder. Mature subject matters are exposed in very bright lighting as they often entangle themselves in the complex workings of nearly every person who tries to live in this world. In reading these passages, it becomes painfully obvious that there is no true black-and-white when considering the human character, nor do solutions to the problems inherent in the human condition come in one-size-fits-all packages.
Soshal Scientz, the book title novella and centerpiece of this collection, asks the controversial question: Did amateur anthropologist M. Nimferd Brattlesh really discover the legendary and probably mythological long-lost original aborigines of the American Southwest or not? That outlandish question, and even more outrageous variety of opinions on the subject, comprises the ten-part exploration of this most embarrassing contemplation of amateur anthropology's already crumbling history. Surrounding this narrative are stories of an overlooked revision of the fi rst book of Genesis, eccentric and absurd situations encountered by numerous characters in search of some much-needed respite from the human condition, and satires and/or parodies that cover some of the visual and literary arts. Any reader seeking profound insights through fi ction and varied tales of lives lived upward or downward is encouraged to look elsewhere. Stories with titles such as Casseroles, Mrs. Probler's Fesslem, Homer Kiam's Rubber Rat, Myrtle's Organic Birds, and Woman With 3-Leg Dog should never be expected to convey any insight or even a single clever sentence as a reward. Other than that, what more needs to be said?

As one of the most enigmatic and most reviled kings in English history, the man who will become Richard III emerges from the pages of The Protector as a loyal brother, a fearless soldier, and an able administrator of the north of England. Neither saint nor villain, he is thrust unwillingly into power by the untimely death of his elder brother, King Edward IV, who leaves the crown to his son, a twelve-year-old boy. On his deathbed, the dying king names Richard protector of the new king and of the realm, but the youth is wholly under the influence of the Woodvilles, his mother's family and Richard's sworn enemies. The result is a power struggle in which Richard must fight to gain not only physical possession of the new king but also his affections as well. In this contest, he is joined by an old ally, William Lord Hastings, and by a new one, the charismatic Henry Stafford, Duke of Buckingham. Both men will play pivotal roles in the events that follow. In the process, Richard will learn of an old family secret that has the capacity to change his life. He will also endure stunning betrayals from the two men who are closest to him while himself committing what is arguably the greatest betrayal of allthe seizing of the crown from his brother's son.
