Richard Cacace wanted to leave a chronicle of his life to his sons and spoke to them about the idea. They told him to do it on two conditions: first, tell the truth and, second, tell it all-the good and the bad. This book was written as a record of the memorable moments of his first twenty-five years. During that period, his life seemed to be a great roller-coaster ride. His life until he was twenty years old seemed like the long upward climb toward the highest point in the ride. Suddenly, he came crashing down to the lowest point in his life. It took almost four years to achieve another high point again. Pride in his achievements made the writing go quickly. When he came to the skeletons in his closet, he had to force himself to open the door and let them out. He wrote things about himself that no one knew. As a result, he felt a sense of relief for having done so.He tells about his time in the US Marine Corps, where he was filled with a renewed sense of pride that helped him climb out of the abyss into which he had fallen. It taught him to value people not by their color or nationality but by their effort and desire. Vietnam gave him the desire to live again. There were incidents where he should have been killed but walked away without a scratch. There were incidents where he was at the edge of his sanity and someone stepped in to keep him from doing something that would have destroyed his life. Vietnam helped simplify the equation of the relationship of people to people in his eyes. They needed one another at a crucial time and didn't care whether they were White, Black, Hispanic, or Asian. It also taught him that in each of us, there is a battle raging between good and evil and, if we are not careful, the evil can win. Go back with him to the early 1950s and walk the path he walked.
The story is about a Martian named Macon that loved exploring space, asteroids, and different planets. After experiencing mechanical trouble with his spaceship, he had to land on planet Earth. After landing his disabled spaceship on Earth, he befriended a young boy named David. The two of them looked for the lithium that Macon needed for his spaceship. After Macon found the element that he needed for his spaceship and repaired it, then the both of them set out on a very short trip to explore the universe to collect samples and to show David what it was like in space. The two became fast friends. Macon had to go back home but promised David that when he came back that he would visit him and take him on some more journeys into space.

In alternating voices, Judith Wright Favor and Rosie Alfaro take the reader on a frank, frustrating, and unforgettable journey. Friending Rosie: Respect on Death Row bridges the chasm between souls consigned to life behind bars, and souls enjoying the privileges of freedom.Rosie's letters from Central California Women's Facility, interwoven with Judith's reflections and questions, highlight perspectives from authors of different races, religions, and languages. Marginalized people stifle their stories when there is no one to hear, but mutual listening brings forth accounts of regret, doubt, humiliation, and grace. Some stories describe difficult encounters in prison. Family members with intimate knowledge of Rosie tell their stories. Other tales illustrate surprising parallels in the inner lives of both authors.Judith follows the friendly path of Quakers who began in the 1650s to value women's leadership and befriend prisoners. Rosie grew up Catholic, in a faith tradition that shaped her art and values. Both write stories interwoven with social challenges and spiritual practices intended to support readers in reaching out to persons behind bars.8-12-20: It's yours, mine, and God's book. I've been lettin people know about our book and about you. People are very interested in our story, and I know this is a start of a great journey. I'm very proud of us, friend... I wanted to tell you that to me this means nothing, but to lots of people who like crime stuff, me being the youngest and the first Latina to get the d. penalty in Calif. is a big deal. I'm personally ashamed of it, but there's people who think it's cool. I love you and you stay safe. Tu Amiga, RosieIncarcerating our way to safety does not work. Friendships do work. These stories, rooted in caring and respect, offer a warmly satisfying testimony to the power of friending.*****

This book should tell of secrets never told before. One day, your story will be read as you look through one's eyes. Life was as you lived, but it can be better.
This book of poems was prompted by the author's separation from his wife during the pandemic (family medical care) and his despair of events unfolding in 2020. It includes poetry written during the virus, as well as from throughout his life which are pertinent to today's topics, such as societal ills during the COVID-19 lockdown-faith, drug abuse, war, racism, love, and sexual issues. The book has both Christian and secular influence. This book is a reaction to the viciousness of our treatment of each other as humans, and the hypocrisy of the Church and the government. The author looks past our shortcomings to an optimism, remembering that to be a genuine human being is to have conviction and courage.

A very badly wounded Viet Nam veteran learned to fight through deep depression and lived with his injuries. During recuperation, he found he had the ability to learn to play various musical instruments, and with his vocal ability, he was able to perform like a professional. He eventually reintegrated into as normal a life as possible. Along the way, he found the joys of love and the depths of extreme sadness. After leaving the military, he searched new locations for a place he could live in and found happiness-his private paradise. He found it and lost it a few times, but his music was always there to help him through the sad times. It also proved to be very entertaining to others, especially young women, and as a bonus, it was very profitable. He even learned to speak a foreign language. He made friends wherever he went. Some were very solid, long-lasting friendships, and others were very shallow and fleeting. Many people said he was the nicest man you would ever know.In the end, will there be a happy ever after?

Jesus confronted the religious leaders of his time concerning their traditions taking priority over the truth. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? (Matthew 15:3)And honor not his father or his mother he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. (Matthew 15:6)For laying aside the commandment of God ye hold the tradition of men as the washing of pots and cups and m any other such like thing ye do. (Mark 7:8)Just because it is "e;tradition"e; does not make it the truth. Some people will say about these chapters, "e;What difference does it make?"e; The difference is what is often traditionally taught does not make it the truth when it comes to the accuracy of the scripture. I would ask, "e;Why does it matter if I lie to you or tell you the truth?"e; Most people do not like being lied to.I challenge the reader to take a clear perspective of the written Word of God. Believe the truth. Do not hold on to things you have been previously taught to you, just because it is tradition. Truth Versus Tradition will take you to the scripture and document what the truth of God's Word says and what has been wrongly taught by tradition.
