This book is about trust and dependence upon God and his saving grace. We must always seek his wisdom, knowledge, guidance, and divine protection. At times, this Christian journey can appear to be a bit burdensome and tedious. However, this book can make this journey worthwhile and a little easier. We must boldly approach the throne of God to seek his face and not his hand. As my faith continues to grow in God, I am learning that developing a deeper and deeper relationship with him is what he desires. To get to this level of intimacy with him, we must go through a school of testing and suffering.During trials and tribulations, character, faith, trust, endurance, and perseverance are produced to establish, settle, and strengthen us. God has placed something inside of each of us that we must give birth to. He wants to make sure that he can entrust us with his time, gifts, talents, and everything else that he has given to us. I admit that God's discipline may seem to be painful at the time, but it will yield the peaceable fruit of righteousness (Heb. 12:11). I am learning that it is divine to ask God to humble you daily. Don't wait to be humbled by him because of being stubborn or disobedient. He will do the exalting. It is my prayer that as God continues to look at each of us, he will begin seeing more and more of the image of his dear Son, Jesus Christ. May we all come completely back to the heart of worship and realize that it is all about God. He is worthy of all honor, glory, and praise! Hallelujah! He reigns! Amen.

This book is designed to represent the thought process of an independent, middle-class voter. After a lifetime of experience in a wide range of occupations, the author hopes to express opinions using humor and insight by adding a variety of personal-interest vignettes that are presented as commentary. Independents will have a significant impact on the 2020 elections. The reasons why I voted for Donald Trump were articulated in detail and were based on my analysis of what an average, hardworking American, Middle Class Independent Voter felt about the Political, Cultural, and Economic conditions that existed at the onset of the 2016 Presidential Election. Donald Trump appeared on the scene at the precise time he was needed. The Middle Class was hurting financially and their dreams for a better life had been ignored by both parties for decades. Spending so many years working dead end jobs or even two jobs barely allowed us to keep our heads above water. The politically correct culture wars drained our strength and tested our patience. The political parties that we had trusted were, elitist, disappointing and arrogant which is why we became Independent voters! Donald Trump instinctively knew we were ripe for the picking. We instinctively knew that he was the right one to pick. And we did!

This is a tale of a three-hundred-year-old blanket made in the mid-1700s in Sweden and follows its travels and adventures to England and then to the New World. It was with the Sons of Liberty when "e;the shot heard around the world"e; was fired. It was in the evacuation of Charleston in 1863 and trekked to Ohio afterward. It then traveled west to Arizona and was with those who settled in the state, from Tombstone to Tucson and then to Prescott and Glendale, near Phoenix. It was with Teddy's Rough Riders at San Juan in Cuba. Pieces of it found their way to WWII and Vietnam. "e;The story is told from journals and news accounts that were saved by the many owners as it was handed down from family member to family member. It is a fun read and interesting slice of American history, which you may not have studied in the public-school system."e;By Stan Williams 2020

My divorce was final, and I was kid free. Although it was a choice I made, I was at the lowest point in my life. I spiraled all the way out of control-what we all know as hitting rock bottom. I needed to build myself back up and get my shit together quickly. All the drinking, drugging, and partying led me to people that helped me turn things around. Regardless of how bad things got, my club brothers never turned their back on me. That's why joining a motorcycle club was one of the best decisions I ever made.It didn't hurt that I had a thing for the sergeant at arms. When I met him, I just wanted one hot night with him. After getting to know him, I wanted him all for myself. We both had one marriage, with kids, behind us. The difference was, his was recent. I knew I needed to tread lightly while snagging my man.Starting as best friends, I felt like our relationship was solid. It was definitely tested when my children returned home, and we moved to Georgia. There was plenty of fighting. Things weren't good with me and his family. I went to jail a few times, and my kids starting acting differently toward him.He showed me that no matter what we'll face, it will be together. He defended me no matter who it was. Every time I went to jail, he held me down. He continued to provide for my girls regardless of how they felt about him. He convinced me I've found my riding partner for life.

Dear readers, this book is written about personal experiences and growth in eighty-five years of life. I've been putting it on paper for the last thirty to forty years, and that is what you hold in your hand. What this book hopefully will accomplish is to inspire and enlighten. In the process of reading these shared life stories, whether it brings a smile to your face or perhaps a tear in your eye, it is in the same manner that it did to us while living the stories out in real life. The stories also will describe some of the Amish culture and beliefs. Each story is true, even the ones that seem to be unbelievable. The stories are of experiences that have happened from youth to adulthood. The lessons learned here are invaluable to all-young, old, women, or men. Also included in this book are religious beliefs that have changed and developed over the years. Once you have read even one line of this book, or if you read it from cover to cover and found it inspiring, praise God and give him the glory. In the name of Jesus Christ, his bond servant.

Since my arrival in the US in late 1954, I lived, worked, and was educated in the greatest city of the world, New York City. Twenty years later while managing the most exclusive tennis club of Manhattan, I had the winter off that made me head south to Florida and the sun shine. It was only a few days after that I learned about the construction of the largest complex of tennis and living quarters in Fort Lauderdale, a large city north of Miami. The Florida weather and magnificent amenities of the club made it impossible to resist, so I bought an apartment there.Fifty years later, I am still living there where in 1988, I made it my only home. The book describes the pain to say goodbye to the city that saw my second birth and for which I nurtured still much nostalgia for the years I happily spent there. Now, after many vicissitudes, I am still happily living at the Lauderdale Tennis Club. Monika McGowan, my companion, a Colombia University graduate, who throughout the seven years in the writing of this book was an indispensable help. I take this opportunity to thank her for her contribution. As far as the book is concerned, I hope that the contents in it will inspire people who create insurmountable obstacles rather than looking at the opportunities before them. Those who can change their negative view can then achieve their ultimate goals.
