I started writing down ideas and poems many years ago. I would just think of some or look for inspirations, such as rainbows and sunsets and morning fresh snow. I also jotted down thoughts and feeling. Then I put them all together and came up with the Thought Poems title for my first book. The poems I have created are that of my own design with a bit of a twist to some of them. But also there are memories and feelings of some of the poems that made me into a better person that I am today. These poems are true and from the heart. Creation of the title took a while too. I thought of other titles, but they didn't seem to fit, so when this one came to mind, I knew it was the perfect title for my book. I often thought I had writer's block, trying to come up with this creative title, which I hope catches everyone's eye. I hope that you enjoy the book and that everyone you know does as well.
This book will bring you a lot of surprises. I wrote it to explain the time from when I was born and the life in Soviet Union at that time and after I moved to this United States. Some if it is true, some what I imagine. Enjoy it and have a good time reading about my adventures!

My Way! is a compilation of 365 daily e-mails Colonel Casado sent his sons, Ben and Alex. He had set a goal of sending them a daily e-mail for 365 days, and after about a month, his wife asked him to stop sending them because the boys weren't reading them. He asked his youngest son, Alex, if he wanted him to stop, and Alex said no. That's when he knew he was on to something. Looking for a good way to communicate with his boys in our high-speed, super-busy digital world, he thought a daily e-mail might be a great way to at least let them know he was thinking of them and at best share some helpful insights and experiences. After thirty-six-plus years of leadership and management experience as a group and squadron commander in the military and a senior leader in the civilian world, the daily passages centered on those things Colonel Casado knew best-leadership, motivation, goal setting, etc. My Way! is based on his personal values, military and civilian leadership experience, and a desire to help develop current and future leaders. My Way! is Colonel Casado's first book but hopefully not his last. After a while, it became apparent that My Way! could help others and thus began the journey of turning the passages into a book. After achieving the 365-day goal, he found he had over 64,000 words on paper. My Way! is a fun and very diverse compilation of passages on a variety of issues falling into the realm of self-help, leadership, management, motivation, parenting, advice, etc. and in the hopes of helping others; here you have it!Lead on!

This autobiography is about my life and the humble words in this book will reflect many stories of domestic violence, abuse of all kinds, sadness, major illnesses, family tragedies, and, most important, how to survive anything that comes your way. I am just a guy who grew up under adverse situations and worked hard to heal and grow along the way. During the manuscript submission phase, Page publishing asked me if I thought readers would enjoy the book and my answer was, "e;I hope readers are inspired by this book. I have a simple message that is best served when read at the end of your consecutive read."e;
A Note for the Parents: Our society has gone through several significant changes in the last fifty years. With these changes come new challenges, and we must find a way to address them all in their own right. When I was growing up the United States, the average age for a child's first sexual encounter was about thirteen years old. Now as my wife and I struggle to raise our three Autistic children, we are faced with addressing issues that I never imagined would be presented to ten- and eleven-year-old children. Recently, we learned of three eleven-year-old girls in my son's school who all tested positive for pregnancy. Combine that with a child who came home talking about things that were way outside his age category. We decided that it best to educate our children with the truth than allow them to be educated by their peers. Finally, I got a phone call from my two oldest boys at 2 a.m. while I was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq, and of all the things, I get asked, "e;Dad, what is masturbation?"e; I have had a lot of coffee in my life, but to be honest, nothing will sober you up faster than hearing this question from your eleven-year-old son. What follows is the explanation I gave them at that time. It has served very well for my children and some other parents who I have helped in the same situation. The topic is mature, but it has been fashioned in such a way that children can understand it clearly. The verbiage and terminology is also mature. Some of you may find this alarming, but if you don't teach your children, someone else will. The best way I have learned to avoid tragedy and heartache is through education, and as such, I offer this tool. I wish you the best of luck because if you are looking at this book, then you understand the problems our children face. I advocate that you sit and read this with them. Take this opportunity to bond over a simplified version of a complex topic. If your children learn you are open and approachable about their challenges in life, you will find that when real problems come their way, your advice will be the first to be sought.
He read and studied the Holy Bible, and he used to think that other ministers and deacons did the same thing, read and study. He has found that people, the ones in the Christian faith, go on and live on what they hear others say. Their whole believe system is based on what somebody else says. There are some that read the Holy Bible and cannot get an understanding of what they are reading. Some read just to prove a point and some just to point a finger. Everything that people need to live by is in the Holy Bible. It gives exact meaning on how we are to live. When there is not an exact meaning, there is always an example to follow. Too many of the pastors do not know where to start to teach the people. For close to two thousand years, the believers have been in a New Testament church. It would behoove every member in the church to learn and know what is in The New Testament and learn the New Testament first, get the knowledge and understanding of who Jesus the Christ is; and in all honesty, try and live a life to show that He lives in the person. We in the church, do have a doctrine to live by from God. To many churches make-up their own doctrine and by-laws, and sooner or later, they are going to fall apart. What we all are suppose to know is that, The Word of God lasts forever. His prayer and desire is for all to get the knowledge and understanding and try real hard to live by the Holy Word of God.

There are photography books on the market today that consist of pictures and some pictures may include who is in the picture and the location of the picture. This book goes beyond just pictures because I include stories (personal thoughts) to some pictures to make them more interesting. There is a saying that goes: "e;Pictures tell a story."e; Well, there are some stories that are as interesting as the picture itself. There are three things that make this photography book different from others in the market:- There is a poem I wrote about September 11, 2001. The poem is after the pictures of the 911 memorial in New York. - If someone is looking for an Alzheimer's support group online then please see the flower picture for details. - The pictures in this book consist of various subjects instead of all on one subject

Jennifer Louise Augustine was raised on a ranch/farm near a small town in the Pacific Northwest. As a child, she fantasized about traveling and living in places she read about in encyclopedias. Armed with an education and a spirit of adventure, she accepted jobs in lands she knew of only in books. She lived and worked outside of the United States for 12 years. It was only ill health that forced her to return to the USA. She taught university-level classes in health information management until she retired in 2012 at which time she decided to write of her adventures overseas. Jennifer now volunteers for church and community activities. She enjoys reading, singing, gardening, writing, and dreaming. She has been able to travel, though not as extensively, since her return to the US. She now lives in a small urban community in the Pacific Northwest. Off to Faraway Places initially focuses on Jennifer Augustine's early years and then moves on to give a candid account of her experiences while living and working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Australia. She traveled extensively to many Middle Eastern and Asian countries and includes stories about some of them in Off to Faraway Places. She took her camera almost everywhere, capturing life as she saw it, and shares many of those photos which bring her words to live. Especially captivating is the section of underwater photography. Expats around the world, and those thinking of working outside the safe shores of their own country, will find Off to Faraway Places a thought-provoking study of working and traveling abroad... definitely not something for the faint-hearted.

Do you count yourself amongst the living or do you walk amongst the lost? Lost or dead, it doesn't really matter because the only difference is, you're still breathing air. But what if you didn't know who you were or where you came from? What if you had no friends, no money, nothing to eat and all points led nowhere? What would you do? Where would you go? Who would you turn to?What if something was coming for you that wanted to take you back to that place you can't remember but swore you'd never go back to? Without memories we're just bags of bones, wrapped in flesh and sealed with a million and one flaws. But each of us are uniquely different, one from another, and it's those memories that define who we are, not just what we see in the mirror. What if that something that was coming railed against everything you believe to be true. How would you deal with that? More importantly, what if there was a cure, a fix, a get out of jail free card? Would you take a leap of faith if it was just a phone call away? I did, knowing full well that once I dialed that number there was no turning back. The only way out now was through the belly of a beast no one should ever contemplate. Never say never and never fall prey to complacence. It's what you don't see that will kill you. But how do you kill something that's already dead? You kill them the same way as the ones still breathing air. Again, would you make that call? I guess that all boils down to how important your life is to you. To see additional work published by Paul Daugherty, please click here.

The Beginning of Everything rolls out on many levels. First of all, it is a narrative about the most sparsely documented times in history. Characters are brought to life in action and dialogue, providing images of how life must have been. Vivid details decorate their environment and sensitively reveal their personal thoughts and emotions. Nature, in all of its peaceful glory, majesty, and power, both soothes the sensitive soul and horrifies the reader with scenes of unspeakable power and wrath. Time stands still as the ingenious, creative order of all that we know comes to life. Shocking revelations bear indisputable truths as the reader's eyes are opened to what was right before them all the time on the pages of the Holy Scripture. The controversial clash between so-called science and faith finds common ground in the truths that overpower assumptions. Challenging questions are asked and answered in precise and convincing revelation, such as: "e;Was Adam's wife named Eve in the garden?"e; Or, "e;Was sunlight the light that shined when 'Let there be light' was spoken?"e;
For the first time, to my knowledge, my mother was able to put into English, the components of what is love. It was her uncommon brilliance that produced "e;Immortal Kisses - Confessions Of a Poet,"e; and its companion "e;Songs Of You - A Postscript,"e; books of poetic jewels that I refer to as "e;written gold."e; Penned by her loving hand, she wrote with passion, and a depth of emotion that could only have evolved from my mother's extraordinary thought process, naturally evolving from her inordinate intellect into an accomplished work of art. Sparked by her imagination, and fueled by her unquenchable desire to write, my mother's creative powers advanced to extraordinary heights. But not only did she write, she was also telling the story of her love affair with my father from the moment they met, until the day of the inevitable. Throughout the years, my mother never once divulged the meanings behind her poems - and I always believed them to be "e;just"e; gorgeous and romantic - poetry that swept me away. I never realized that there were stories behind them and meanings beneath them. Eventually in her own way, my mother revealed to me the various people in her life who left indelible marks, and about some of whom she wrote. Additionally, her wondrous romance with nature developed and grew into a finely tuned visual tapestry at our extraordinary home in Brookville, Long Island. It was here, along with my father, she considered to be the center of her heart - reminiscent of "e;The Weirs,"e; - my parents' famed, fairytale cottage on New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee, where they spent the first week of their sixty year marriage. And so this, our magical and resplendent home, became my mother's "e;Paradise,"e; having a life-time effect on her psyche - identical to that oft-mentioned and fabled honeymoon, producing her love affair with all of nature's bounty. In view of all of this, I knew I had to sit down and write a memoir about my mother's life, as I recall her telling me, so that her poetry would be explained, along with her motivation behind her writing - that was love, and that love was my father David. He was her "e;raison d'etre."e;
