Das Buch bietet eine interdisziplinäre Studie, welche die meistgekaufte slowakische Boulevard-Wochenzeitschrift literaturwissenschaftlich analysiert und die Ergebnisse im Rahmen des pastoraltheologischen Diskurses auswertet. Aus der pastoraltheologischen Reflexion der Ergebnisse wird auf die mediale Präsenz der Kirche geschlossen. Wie wird die Kirche in der Boulevardpresse dargestellt? Wie kann dieses Kirchenbild interpretiert werden? Was kann die Kirche für sich selbst aus der für sie nicht immer vorteilhaften Darstellung in der Boulevard-Zeitschrift lernen? Die Fragestellung ist umso spannender, wenn man bedenkt, dass die meistgekaufte Boulevardzeitschrift in der Slowakei gegenüber der Kirche meistens kritisch ist, wobei die überwiegende Mehrheit der slowakischen Bevölkerung sich zur dieser Kirche bekennt.

Die Arbeit greift die Ausgestaltung der Öffentlichkeitsbeteiligung und des Rechtsschutzes innerhalb des Planungs- und Genehmigungsverfahrens für länderübergreifende und grenzüberschreitende Übertragungsnetze aus Sicht des einzelnen Bürgers auf. Sie fokussiert sich auf das Modell konzentrierten Rechtsschutzes und die materielle Präklusion im Planfeststellungsverfahren des NABEG. Gegenstand der Untersuchung ist, welche Rechte dem Einzelnen im Verfahren der Öffentlichkeitsbeteiligung zukommen und welche Rechtsschutzmöglichkeiten er hat. Weiter geht der Autor der Frage nach, welche Beschränkungen sich aufgrund der Rechtsschutzkonzentration und der materiellen Präklusion für die Rechtsstellung des Einzelnen ergeben und wo die Grenzen der Einschränkbarkeit liegen.

Transhumanismus wird oft als Konglomerat spekulativer Technikvisionen, als Enhancement-Utopie oder als Science-Fiction betrachtet. Der Autor setzt sich kritisch mit gängigen Auffassungen über die Denkform Transhumanismus auseinander und argumentiert, dass sie eine bedeutsame programmatische Entwicklung, eine Hinwendung zur akademischen Wissenschaft, weitgehend übersehen. Unter Zugrundelegung der wissenschaftstheoretischen Methodologie von Imre Lakatos rekonstruiert er Transhumanismus als Forschungsprogramm mit hartem Kern, Schutzgürtel und Vorhersagen. Hierin zeigt er, inwiefern der Transhumanismus eine technikphilosophisch bedeutsame Perspektive zum Umgang mit neuartigen Technologien eröffnet, ohne für dessen normative Positionen einzutreten.
