Jerzy Grotowski and the "Laboratory Theatre" presented his famous performance "The Constant Prince" to Iranian audiences in 1970. Artists who encountered Grotowski in person were fascinated by him. Die Arbeit untersucht die Medien, die aus der Kongoreise (1925-1926) von Andre Gide und Marc Allegret hervorgegangen sind, hinsichtlich ihrer Modellierung von Alteritat bzw.Fremdheit. Es zeigt sich, dass die Werke aufgrund der ihnen inharenten Ambivalenz und Hybriditat permanent zwischen fiktionalem und dokumentarischem Habitus changieren.
