Zwei weitere Kapitel beleuchten die spezifischen Eigenarten dieses ersten in Deutschland entstandenen Widerstandsromans zum einen von seinen charakteristischen Unterschieden her zu Anna Seghers weltberühmten Exilroman «Das siebte Kreuz» (1942), zum andern von den teils erheblichen Veränderungen seiner Verfilmung (1975).
