This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 2nd International Conference, ITMM 2023 and 14th International Workshop, WRQ 2023, held in Tomsk, Russia, during December 4¿9, 2023.The 23 full papers included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 96 submissions. The papers are devoted to new results in queueing theory and its applications, and also related areas of probabilistic analysis. This book examines the rise of exclusionary neoliberalism by assessing how far-right populist actors impact economic policy change. Drawing on the case of the Austrian Freedom Party, the book illustrates how neoliberalism emerged as a far-right political project in Austria. Tracing the Freedom Party¿s ideational history, the book describes the making of the exclusionary neoliberal state through its establishment in the 1980s, its implementation in the early 2000s and how exclusionary neoliberalism was sustained after the Great Financial Crisis of 2008. The book thereby provides important insights on how domestic politics respond to challenges imposed by globalization and international market integration, and explains the less obvious ways in which exclusionary nationalist ideas can be deeply entangled with neoliberalism. Although there are many publications about energy efficiency policies and renewable energy policies, most of them are specific to some countries or regions. As most of these publications focus on country and region specific issues, they may not be preferred in teaching the energy related policies in a university not from that country or region. The author has been teaching a course called ¿Energy Laws and Policies¿ for a long time. Over the years, she prepared detailed lecture notes about energy efficiency policies and renewable energy policies which are the basis of this book. Drawing on the author's four decades of experience as a concert oboist, this open access book studies a number of foundational issues in the philosophy of music, such as musical meaning and expression, musical ontology and the existence of the musical work, the relation between music and language, and the phenomenology of music. The book surveys the development of Western classical music from the Baroque era through to the 20th century, both from the perspective of contemporary Lithuanian philosophers such as Girnius, Maceina, ¿liogeris, and Jack¿nas, and 20th century European philosophy. In addition to discussing key questions in the philosophy of music, the book also analyses technical musical terms such as articulation, phrasing, and rhythm.

This open access book focuses on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on well-being, happiness and quality of life, taking into account the mediating effects of social inequalities. This open access book gives comprehensive empirical insights on connected and automated driving (CAD) of road transport vehicles which leads to the driver being partially or completely replaced by automation. The current trend towards widespread research and development of automation of motorised individual transport is driven by the expected benefits, such as increased road safety, smoother traffic flow, reduction of congestion, or use of driving time for other activities. CAD has the potential to change several dimensions of the transport system, ranging from changes in car ownership to the availability of entirely new mobility services. Some proponents even expect CAD to revolutionise the current transport system as a whole. In order to make informed statements about the possible impact of CAD on transport systems, research must consider a wide range of open questions: In what way do the existing framework conditions of the prevailing mobility systems affect the impact of CAD? How does the governance style relate to regulatory changes and resource allocation in the development of CAD? Is an autonomous ride-hailing service really a profitable business case? What are the attitudes and expectations towards CAD in the general public? What are the effects of CAD on transport systems? What are other impacts of CAD that should be assessed? All of these questions were addressed within different projects as part of the Japanese-German Research Cooperation on CAD and can be discovered by the reader of this book.

This book overcomes the separation existing in literature between the static and the dynamic bifurcation worlds. While GPS is the de-facto solution for outdoor positioning with a clear sky view, there is no prevailing technology for GPS-deprived areas, including dense city centers, urban canyons, buildings and other covered structures, and subterranean facilities such as underground mines, where GPS signals are severely attenuated or totally blocked.
