This book presents recent research in the field of piezoelectric vibration energy harvesting in which intentionally designed nonlinearities as well as inherently present are widely considered. It provides an overview of the state-of-the-art, with a sharp classification into linear and nonlinear devices, and recalls the fundamentals of piezoelectricity and magnetostatics. A detailed treatment of linear and nonlinear mathematical modeling of piezoelectric harvesters is then developed to provide the reader with a wide range of modeling possibilities. Theoretical, computational, and experimental approaches to modeling the magnetic interaction are also provided. Several cases of innovative piezoelectric harvester designs based on magnetic interaction as a frequency up-conversion mechanism (FuC) are developed. Improvements of the magnetic FuC are proposed, in combination with indirect impacts as well as the manipulation of magnetic forces with novelty methods. Novel studies on the magnetic interaction itself and its implications for the dynamic behavior of the harvester are also summarized. Over the last 20 years, so-called regression-based normative methods have become increasingly popular. In this approach, regression models for the mean and the residual variance structure are used to derive the normative data. The regression-based normative approach has some important advantages over the traditional normative approach, e.g., it allows for deriving more fine-grained norms and typically requires a substantially smaller sample size to derive accurate norms. This book presents smart energy management in the context of energy transition. It presents the motivation, impacts and challenges related to this hot topic. Then, it focuses on the use of techniques and tools based on artificial intelligence (AI) to solve the challenges related to this problem. A global diagram presenting the general principle of these techniques is presented. Therefore, an SG smart grid also includes an intelligent layer that analyzes the data provided by consumers as well as that collected from the production side in order to optimize consumption and production according to weather conditions, the profile and habits of the consumer. The authors' years of experience helping companies create interactive software applications revealed that interactive applications built without Conceptual Models generally result in fraught production processes and designs that are confusing and difficult to learn, remember, and use. Instead, the book shows that Conceptual Models can be a central link between the elements involved in the use of interactive applications: people's tasks (domains), their plans for performing those tasks, the use of applications in the plans, the conceptual structure of applications, the presentation of the conceptual model (i.e., the user interface), the terms used to describe it, its implementation, and the learning that people must do to use the application. With the rise in COVID-19 cases, the amount of biomedical waste has multiplied, exposing more people to the epidemic. For developing countries, waste management is already a problem, and the waste generated during this pandemic situation has made things worse. If improper waste management techniques are not changed, the world will face a new crisis that could be referred to as a "garbage crisis." The increased quantity of COVID-19-associated waste (CAW) and their presence in the environment make them more vulnerable, potentially increasing the danger of food chain contamination. A few countries have already started putting emergency plans in place to address the "waste crisis." Given the paucity of information on the mutational features and potential hosts of this newly discovered COVID-19, there is a pressing need for an effective plan to protect India's ecosystem against further contamination. To handle the current crisis and prevent the anticipated waste disaster, it is imperative to construct a more effective, automated, computerized, and well-modified waste management system during the COVID-19 period.
By 2027, it had been seven years since the ground-breaking work on artificial psychology that changed the world, especially for the two scientists behind it. The work debut around the same time as the introduction of Large Language Model Chatbots like ChatSmart and Shakespear, and the power of its integration with them put many industries in a tailspin. Though the widespread use of Chatbots was now commonplace for many, the commercial and defense industries were still scrambling to regulate the use of them in research and universities. The scientists signed on to a contract with DARPA to build AI entities, but ultimately the agency decided the technology was too advanced and potential dangerous to dare bring to market and demanded the scientists destroy the entities and all evidence they existed. The researchers couldn't bring themselves to destroy what amounted to 20 years of work, so instead sent the entities to various locations around the world - hiding it in other research labs, hoping DARPA wouldn't find it. Meanwhile, each AI-entity was embracing its new home, growing, adapting, and evolving at an alarming rate. It will take everything the researchers have to find and reel them in, not yet knowing they had evolved beyond what the two of them ever imagined was possible. In the end, when they catch up to each one, the entities have reached a point where they realize they cannot evolve any further unless they can experience physical contact; not physical contact between humans and robots, but physical contact between robot and robot, ushering the world into and new paradigm where the difference between AI-entities and human entities becomes less and less discernible. All the AI and robotic science featured in the book is real; the story line is fictional, but with how fast innovation moves, it's not hard to envision.

The well-being of coming generations will depend on our ability to adapt our economies to this challenge. In particular, transforming today's cities into sustainable cities is one of the main adaptations that will be necessary. A holistic approach looking at cities from a system's perspective is neededto achieve this goal. Nature-based solutions (NbS) serve exactly this ambitious and multi-factorial purpose due to their inherent ability not only to tackle climate change but also to provide a series of ecosystem services and social benefits. In the urban context, NbS can deal with main challenges such as urban heat islands, flooding, treatment of wastewater and runoff and food provision. At the same time, NbS can provide a series of ecosystem services beneficial for the environment and the society including clean water production, nutrient recovery, heavy metals retention and a broad range of plant-based materials. In the new circular economy paradigm, NbS can contribute to strategies for climate change adaptation and create a holistic resource management system for the urban biosphere. Das gilt vor allem für die kommunikativen Grundrechte mit dem Dauerkonflikt zwischen Medienberichterstattung und Persönlichkeitsrecht. Insgesamt hat sich die EU-Grundrechtsdogmatik sowohl in der Rechtsprechung als auch in der Literatur erheblich fortentwickelt und wird umfassend kritisch gewürdigt - so zur Zulässigkeit der Vorratsdatenspeicherung. Das gilt auch für die neue Rolle des BVerfG zur Durchsetzung der EU-Grundrechte und für die Flüchtlingsproblematik.
Die europäischen Wirtschaftsgrundrechte wurden stark fortentwickelt, indem der EuGH die immer wieder beklagte grobmaschige Prüfungsdichte deutlich erhöht hat. Daraus ergeben sich wichtige Konsequenzen für die Verwirklichung des Klimaschutzes auf EU-Ebene, die mit dem BVerfG-Klimabeschluss abgeglichen werden. Wie können damit die UN-Ziele für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung erreicht werden, zu denen MaÃnahmen zum Klimaschutz gehören (SDG 13)? Insoweit von Bedeutung sind auch die solidarischen Grundrechte vor allem in Gestalt des Umweltschutzes. Die sozialen Grundrechte hatten ihre Bewährungsprobe im Zusammenhang mit Covid 19. Ausführlich behandelt werden auch die Gleichheits- und Bürgerrechte, die justiziellen Rechte unter starkem Rückgriff auf die insoweit vielfältige EGMR-Judikatur, aber auch die jüngere EuGH-Rechtsprechung in Kartellsachen. Insgesamt erfolgt eine nähere Bewertung mit Blick auf die konkreten Konsequenzen.
