I often think of myself as a proud person. Sometimes your pride gets in the way, but most of the time it is the way! Well, I am proud to say that I am a boozer. Yes, that''s right, I said boozer. Not a drunk or an alcoholic, but a boozer. Do you enjoy a beverage of choice? I know I do, that''s for sure. This is a series of stories of how I came up with the names of drinks that are based on friends. Some came about when I was ... well, boozing. Some of them came to life when I was cooking. We like to have a cocktail while cooking. Cooking and booze have been going together for a long time, sometimes in the meal and sometimes in the cook. Ha! Either way, it''s always better. The bartending profession has been in my life for too many years. It''s been very good to me and has let me experience many things in life, so I decided to put together this drink book.Oh, by the way, I am Dewey Henry. Truly my pleasure to meet you. I guess you actually get to meet me. I hope the pleasure is the same for you as it is for me. I really don''t know what we just said, but you are going to find out how I talk as you read. Many have said that the way I talk is known as Deweyism.I finished this book on July 2, 2019, which would have been my mom''s eightieth birthday, so it''s dedicated to her. You know, without our parents we wouldn''t be able to accomplish many things. First off, we wouldn''t even be here. Ha! Oddly enough, my father was the storyteller of the family, not my mom, even though he was sort of quiet. I became a storyteller. Mom just told things as they happened. That''s what I do. Honestly, that''s how I became who I am, like mom was when she was raising us. It''s weird ''cause she was actually telling the truth about things as she saw them happen.Oh, her birthday. She used to say that her birthday was halfway to the end of the year. Most people would argue, "No it''s not; its July 1st." Well, if you count the days, you''ll see she was right, depending on leap year. OMG! Actually, she is telling a story. I get this from her, so thanks, Mom. Miss you.

The Repairer of the Breach is my contribution to raise up the foundations of God for my generation and those to come. It is my effort to partner with God’s people to repair any breach between them and the Heavenly Father, and to restore paths for men and women of various backgrounds, cultures, and races to walk or dwell in.I want to contribute to a better quality of life for all people. I want to inspire people to believe in God to their full potential, which in turn I believe will lead them to live life to its fullest potential.God is only good always. The devil is only evil always.Few people truly believe the above statement. Many people in this walk of life do not believe in God or the devil. Then there are those who believe that there is a God and there is a devil, but they lack the knowledge and truth regarding the nature of the true God and the nature of the devil, the adversary. Hence, God is often blamed for the evil that occurs in this world. God is blamed for death, destruction, sorrow, and a whole host of other things. I will show you from the integrity of God’s word (the Bible) that God is only good and is not the cause or source of evil in the world or in our personal lives.(About the Author)Don Smith is a minister of the Lord Jesus Christ and a critical thinker who is a dynamic teacher/presenter of God’s Word. The inspiration behind Poisoned Land: Vegetation of Disturbed and Polluted Areas in Pakistan arose from the dire situation of the world’s decaying environment and how pollution is impacting plants. Anthropological activities are altering the current status of flora and fauna of Pakistan. The alarming changes in nature, with its ensuing structure and composition of vegetation due to environmental pollution brought about the research for this book, as there is scant literature on the impact of pollution on plant communities. The description of nature, and the structure and composition of vegetation is very complex. Ever-increasing pollutants are leading to an unhealthy environment for living organisms, calling for there to be changes toward a healthier environment.Born in Sialkot, Pakistan, Dr. Muhammad Shafiq migrated to Karachi, where he recently retired from government service. The author’s hobbies include scientific research on botany, travel, and listening to music. In this book, editors have attempted to categorize different aspects of environmental issues affecting plant communities. The subject matter provides an interesting snapshot into the impact of environmental pollutants on vegetation.“The response of plant communities to pollutant stress depends upon the nature of toxicity, tolerance and interaction of underlying edaphic factors. Disturbed areas considered those, where the integrity of the natural setting and natural system processes has been directly or indirectly affected by human activities. The nature, structure and composition of vegetation in disturbed and polluted areas in Pakistan reported in this book. Many species in and around the industrial units and polluted areas are affected by anthropogenic and industrial activities. The species having first dominant position in some stands are found attaining the second or third dominant position in other stands due to changes in prevailing environmental conditions. This book provides some useful information about the impact of pollutants on plant communities for researchers and general readers. Data analysis helps in understanding about the dissimilarities in species composition and the relative influence of the most important environmental variables within the area. Literature dealing with the plant ecology of Pakistan shows that very little work has been done on the studies of plant communities in polluted and disturbed areas of the country. An effort has been undertaken through the available survey of literature to report the vegetation characteristics of the disturbed and polluted areas and its ecological characteristics.”

My name is Ed Pal and I am a Bible believer. I am a believer because the Bible is the only Word that reveals the Truth of the Creator in relation to His creatures.I wrote this book to exhort the readers to be aware of the importance of acknowledging the Truth of the Bible. I know! The Truth and the lie have become so mixed up these days that we cannot distinguish which is which anymore! We got so used to the lie that it became part of our daily life. We like so much to lie that we fell in love with it! We love so much to lie that if we don’t lie, we feel uncomfortable. We love so much to lie that we even lie to ourselves! We love so much to lie, that we lie even if it is not convenient. And to lie is always not convenient, because it causes only troubles. Even though we love to lie to others, we hate that others are lying to us.Even so, we don’t like to hear the Truth, either! But contrary to all this confusion, The Truth of the Bible will free us from the woes to come. (Rev. 8: 13)I believe that there is no creation without the Creator, and no Truth without the Truth of the Bible! And the Truth reveals that intelligent life can only proceed from intelligent life! And so, since the intelligent creation reveals the Intelligent Creator, whoever neglects or ignores the revelation of the Word, on the Judgement Day, will have no justification before the Throne of God! God Bless Us All!

Misnomers are often used in international politics to describe issues and situations that use common words, but carry different meanings. For example, tolerance, suicide bombers, women’s equality, and many other words are commonly used by Muslims to make us believe that these words mean the equivalent of the jargon we know, when in fact they cover up dark schemes that depart miles from conventional meanings.Tolerance means for us to accept others as they are without value/judgment. For Muslims, it means accepting others (often temporarily), despite their inherent inferiority, until converting or dominating them becomes feasible.Suicide bombers for us means terrorists who do not care for human life, and are prepared to kill themselves together with other targeted enemies. For Muslims, these bombers are holy martyrs who sacrifice themselves for the sake of Allah by killing enemies of Islam, and are assured the bliss of Paradise in the proximity of Allah.Women are diminished and relegated to a second-rate status in Islam. Women can be beaten and disciplined, while at the same time, equality and special concern is claimed for them. A wide array of examples and situations of Muslim misnomers are cited and elaborated in the book.Raphael Israeli has taught Islamic, Chinese, and Middle Eastern history at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. A graduate of Hebrew University in history and Arabic literature, he earned a Ph.D. in Chinese and Islamic history from the University of California, Berkeley. Now retired, he has been a Fellow of the Harry Truman Research Institute at Hebrew University and the Jerusalem Center since the 1970s, and is the author of over 50 research books, a dozen edited books, and 100 scholarly articles about Islam.
Over the past century, life expectancy increased from the mid-forties to the mid-seventies. Now, however, longevity is beginning to decline.Lifestyle and Longevity by surgeon Tom Taylor provides a comprehensive overview for lay readers about the factors influencing longevity, and the strategies that can potentially increase it.The major killers – heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and dementia – all have causative factors in common that are related to diet, and most interestingly, they share the same foodstuffs. The book addresses the energy intake and dietary considerations that can overcome or delay development of these major diseases. There is also information on the genetic, environmental, and psychological factors in a healthy lifestyle, and the importance of exercise. With historically unprecedented amounts of leisure time, along with massive technological advancements, people have become more sedentary and are subject to the damaging effects of fast foods. Many of these life-shortening effects did not occur in the past, but they are reversible.“In writing this book, I have utilized my lifelong professional experience in dealing with disease processes in the practice of surgery, and have studied in detail intestinal diseases related to diet, including obesity and diabetes.” Dr. Taylor advises on major disease avoidance and treatment.(About the Author)Tom Taylor grew up in England, attended the Universities of Edinburgh and Manchester, trained as a surgeon, and practiced surgery and surgical research in Manchester and Houston, Texas. The author wrote this book because “I lived in Lightning Ridge with migrants from about fifty countries and they all have a story to tell. When dealing with opals, love and betrayals play a big part. There are joys and tragedies and excitement, and especially hope.“I feel that I have added to the mosaic of opal adventure. Some books are written about opal, but none about opal miners. This unique industry began in the late 1800s and it blossomed with the influx of migrants in the 1960s. I also wrote migrant stories as an adult education teacher.”Originally from Slovenia, Cilka Zagar now resides in Lightning Ridge, Australia.“Slovenia, where I come from, is a jewel of central Europe. Our neighbors coveted and annexed much of Slovenian land, so the country is now very small. After WWII, some aspirational Slovenians escaped from communism and many came to Australia.“I worked as a primary school teacher and an accredited interpreter. “I have been an Aboriginal liaison officer and have often represented the views of Aborigines and migrants. I write fiction and non-fiction, and had books published in English and Slovenian languages.“I had my first stories and poems published when I was 12.”Lightning Ridge, Australia, the world’s opal capital, has miners from over fifty countries, who brought with them their political and religious beliefs, traditions, and memories.Gradually they created a unique society with a new culture, character, morals, and ideals. You never know who is who in Lightning Ridge, says Bill, an old opal miner. Aborigines and Europeans, doctors and illiterates, policemen and criminals, all camp next to each other, looking for the same rainbow in the clay beneath the sandstone.Prospectors come to Lightning Ridge in search of the elusive rainbow gem that will make them instantly rich and respected. The hope to find a red-on-black opal is the dream these opal miners live on.Ratting is the worst crime possible in an opal mining community. Ratters are miners who masquerade as prospectors, but they wait until a miner hits opal and then loot his mine. These stories are also about the women who loved and followed their adventurous men searching for their rainbow in the heart of Australian wilderness. The seven stories in this book are based on real people and events. Each story can be read separately or as one book. Set in Lightning Ridge and in Canberra, the tales span from 1938 to present day.
Diversified Money and External Debt: A Model for the United States offers an applied economic study representing the proposed concept of how the United States can rationalize its large external financial debt. The realization of this proposal is expected to last ten years, and after that time, the U.S. will entirely dispose of its economically intimidating foreign debt. The book stipulates that American foreign trade should be internationally free and fair. To this end, an element of economic protection is embedded in trade in the form of diversified money. This concept does not disturb the freedom of interstate economic exchange of goods, but does protect America’s economic space from economically unfair exploitation. The proposal’s pure economic benefits are envisioned to enrich the U.S. by $43 trillion over ten years, an average annual economic growth of over four percent, which would be the most favorable economic period in American history. In addition, this would protect the country from frightening major economic-financial crisis, which lies in international external debt.Per the author: “If we start with the fact that the external debt of the U.S. in 2013 was 31.27 percent of all external debts in the world, it can be concluded that it is the world’s biggest economic problem.”(About the Author)Born in Croatia, Ivan Ovcaricek-Rostok earned three economic degrees at the University in Zagreb, including a master’s and a doctorate in science. He worked at big companies in Croatia as an analyst, director of factory, and financial director. He did scientific research and has published forty-five professional and scientific papers in economics.

In the past, it was thought that voyeurism was only practiced by solitary figures lurking in the bushes outside bedroom windows. Was I in for a surprise. My name is Maura. After I got to know my “watcher,” I discovered through my experiences with him that some voyeurs become a bona fide cohort, complete with their own distinguishing traits, membership, common jargon, unwritten code of ethics and conduct, class divisions, dress codes, and territorial hunting grounds. As it turns out, I was lucky. Very lucky. I would never suggest anyone do something with this much potential danger, but at that time I had no boundaries. I still don’t.What I did discover, however, is that sometimes the devil you know is safer than the one you think you know…This, then, is our story.Leslie Daniels is a well-known Canadian environmental and social activist, having worked on issues of hazardous and household waste management. Her third book thE lifE oF A boB describes the start of the personal computer generation in the 1990s.
