There''s more than meets the eye when it comes to serial killers. Some are captured and sentenced to death, while others still lurk in communities throughout the world. Author Michael J. Manley contends that you can''t truly write about something unless you experience it yourself. He lived in the same neighborhood of one of the most notorious serial killers in Los Angeles, and he visited Springfield, Massachusetts, where nine serial killings were committed. He writes of the pain and horror that entire communities experience, as two contemporary serial killers on opposite ends of the country leave their dead to be found in bodies of water or alley ways.Based on true stories, the novel Still Waters Run Deep: The Tales of Two Cities That Suffered from Serial Killings: Springfield, Massachusetts & Los Angeles, California delves into the behaviorism that serial killers have in common. What is it that drives these mass murderers to kill?Still Waters is a must-read for those who need to know the mystery inside the murderous minds of serial killers.Born in the Los Angeles community of Watts, Michael J. Manley graduated from the School of Forensic Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. He interned at the University of California. Now retired, this is the author''s seventh published novel. He does not just write, but researches his stories to "script" the concepts and theoretical premises of people with obstructive, compulsive behaviorism.

For more than twenty years, I have studied destructive and apocalyptic cult leaders like Jim Jones, David Koresh (Waco), Shoko Asahara (Aum Shinriko), Marshall Applewhite (Heaven’s Gate), Charles Manson (Helter Skelter Murderers), and Luc Jouret and Joseph DiMambro (Suicidal Solar Temple). These cult leaders, the mesmerizing Malignant Pied Pipers of our time, led idealistic, father-hungry, or disillusioned young people away from their homes and toward destruction.Having an understanding of cult mentality and the pathological personalities of cult leaders is essential, for there are striking similarities between these deadly leaders and the newest examples, Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda cult of ultimate terror. The death toll from Jonestown, the Branch Davidian disaster at Waco, and Al Qaeda/ISIS terror cults of the last 30 years is horrendous. My previous book, A Boyish God, is a troubling novel with deep insights. I was jolted to my core when I learned that a college friend’s son died at the Rev. Jim Jones’s side at Jonestown. Over 30 years later, I am still searching for answers, especially about terror prevention.About the Author: Psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Peter Olsson, M.D., trained at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. At 2:54 a.m. on Friday October 12, 1984, an active service unit of the Provisional Irish Republican Army detonated an explosive device on the sixth floor of the Grand Hotel in Brighton, England.Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and senior members of her government were in the hotel attending their annual party conference. The device had been placed behind a bath panel in room 629 a month earlier, and was irrefutably “the most destructive single assault on the government since the attempt to blow up Parliament 380 years earlier. The object was to wipe out most of the British government, which was uncharacteristically, in a single location,” (The Times, Friday, October 12, 1984).Ten years later, in April 1994, the trial of six members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army was heard in Tucson, Arizona. The six were indicted for conspiracy to purchase explosives and weapons for use by the Provisional Irish Republican Army. This story is based on those two incidents and involves two characters: an Irishman who was one of the gang convicted for the Grand Hotel bombing, and a former British Police officer who had been on the Thatcher security detail. Their paths cross again in Northern Mexico with horrendous results, and the former policeman goes on a rampage.About the Author: This is the first novel by Keith Roberts, a former guardsman in Her Majesty’s Brigade of Guards. After retiring from the British Police, he immigrated to the USA. “I grew up in Coventry, an industrial city in the middle of England, and now live the cowboy life in Tucson, Arizona, with three horses, three dogs, and the occasional rattlesnake.Publisher’s website: http://sbprabooks.com/KeithRoberts

The Tome of God traces the history of the Numerist Religion, starting with the arrival from the stars to the final suppression by the Church in the seventeenth century. The work encompasses the eras of Pythagoras, Pharaoh Akhenaten, the destruction of Jerusalem, the Crusades, and the genocide against the Cathars in France. This beautiful religion is peaceful and is the only universal faith. It preaches – and proves – that God does not speak to mankind in words, but in mathematics. God is not name but Number!Says the author, “In contrast to other religious works, which are inherently violent, this work demonstrates that violence proves their fallibility. Its abiding tenets are based on equality between man and woman, and the need to abandon the tribe and become universal.”Publisher’s website: http://sbprabooks.com/JohnJMulhall
