Few things are able to arrest one's attention, convey a salient lesson, and leave a lasting impression as effectively and profoundly as a story. Countless trends and conventions have come and gone over the centuries in this world, but the power of a narrative has remained a constant in the experience of the human race. No wonder Jesus's chosen method of verbal communication was stories.Recognizing the power of storytelling in her own life, Eulene Greenland has compiled and written a number of tales: real experiences people have had and then shared with her, as well as stories based on true events that have been passed down. In Thoughts and Tales That Inspire you will meet individuals of all ages and walks of life who have been touched by God's love. You will be reminded that the Creator has no shortage of creative ways to pursue the hearts of His children: nature, people, circumstances-even pets.As we go through the daily demands of life, we can so gradually and so easily forget what matters most: that we are what matters most to God. The book Thoughts and Tales That Inspire compels us to see past the distractions and veneer of life, and into the battle that rages for our souls. When this life is over, which tale will we want the universe to have on record about us?
The announcer said, "a roadside bomb had killed five more soldiers." Their names would be added to a growing list of the fallen during the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom. We must remember that this memorial is not about being for or against this war. This is about remembering the individuals who sacrificed it all to defend our freedom.
Have you ever taken the time to examine the smallest detail on a fallen leaf, or the tiniest speck of color on a sitting butterfly? Jodi Sones uses her artist's eye to capture these details and share the beauty of nature. We would like to share some of her beautiful paintings with you here in this book. Enjoy!"I paint from photos getting my references from jig-saw puzzles I used to play on FaceBook (Puzzles for Friends), and an on-line photo sharing sites (Photos for Artists and Paint My Photo) plus a few other photographers and some of my own photos. I find most of my inspiration through nature. I have not painted en plein air (in the open air) yet, but maybe in my future. I use only primary colors when painting, and those are Cobalt Blue, Azo Yellow and Alizarin Crimson from M. Graham. I will use a bit of Chinese White at times, but try to keep that at a bare minimum as I do favor preserving the white of the paper with masking fluid over Chinese White."

There is a message in the sky. It is a message about God and his work. "Lift your eyes to the sky and see Who has created the stars. It is none other than the One who leads them by number, calling them all by name." Isa. 40:26. Adam named the animals but God named the stars. This study is a revision of several previous works on the subject. The materials presented here are drawn heavily from these pioneers. Foremost recognition is given to Joesph A. Seiss and his "The Gospel In The Stars," originally published in 1882.May you gain a fresh perspective, appreciation, as well as a greater understanding of the Infinite Wisdom of our Great Creator. While sublime lessons were drawn by the Master Designer with the intent to display His Glory, evil subverted such notions into the pseudo-science of astrology and its product, the horoscope.May the rediscovery of God's original purpose strengthen your faith and confidence in His Word.
God is AWESOME, and He does amazing things for each one of us, even when we don't realize it! Sometimes, by sharing OUR experiences of God in our lives with others, we encourage them to take a closer look and identify the hand of God in their own lives. Our amazing God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and He will never leave us nor forsake us.In this book, Rita Roberts shares her many encounters with a God who loves and protects her. From an out-of-control dump truck to a train that miraculously did not cross her path, or lost keys on the bottom of a lake that had only one hope to be found, she traces in her many stories God's presence and care in even the smallest details of her life. She shows us how, if we take a moment to stop and take notice of things around us, our amazing God is found everywhere and is directing everything we see.
What would you do if you knew that the END IS NOW? This is the dilemma facing the Larsson family as they navigate the events of the last days and search the scriptures to discern the TRUTH from the DECEPTIONS confronting them at every turn. No one is safe, and the reality is that the decision to stand for God or against Him in this last, great cosmic battle is an individual one.For Mike, Rachael, Janelle, and Jason, the President's remarks have turned their world upside down. At that moment they realize that nothing will ever be the same and that their safe, comfortable life is about to be torn away from them. Soon they will be running for their lives, trusting only in God, but remaining, until the very end, FAITHFUL FUGITIVES.
As we approach the end of time, a working knowledge of Bible prophecy is more important than ever. Ellen White promoted a careful study of the two main books of prophecy in the Bible-Daniel and Revelation."A much more careful study of Daniel and the Revelation is needed now than ever before." Counsels to Writers and Editors, p. 65.Ellen White suggested that the books of Daniel and Revelation should be bound together and published, showing they are related to the same subjects. She also advised that the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation should be printed in small books with necessary explanations added."Daniel and the Revelation explain each other, and they are to be understood as witnesses in the world." The Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, Vol. 7, p. 949.This little book fulfills this need. It contains the entire books of Daniel and Revelation, along with condensed explanations and Ellen White clarifications. Studies on Daniel and Revelation is a perfect study companion for any Bible student.
"I've made my decision," announced Harold, "I was going to ask for a pair of new shoes, but I can polish up my old ones. They even have a birthday-party for Jesus!Author Ella May Robinson was the granddaughter of James and Ellen White. She filled the varied roles of colporteur, church school teacher, missionary wife, and mother of two missionaries.
William Booth was so successful as a Methodist evangelist that other ministers were embarrassed. In 1857, these ministers voted overwhelmingly to remove him from general evangelism. They moved to make him pastor of a small district.William's passion was to preach to the urban poor, but he accepted his new assignment and prayed for patience while he worked as a pastor. Finally, in 1860, his patience wore thin. Once more, he asked for full-time evangelistic work, and again, was refused. This time, inspired by his wife, Catherine, he left the Methodist Church. The future looked bleak for William, Catherine, and their four small children. Prayerfully, Catherine told him, "The Lord will be with us. You have a message for the masses, and you must reach them."Together with a growing number of followers, he and Catherine brought hope to the world's poorest areas. With soul-stirring evangelistic meetings and steaming bowls of soup for anyone who hungered, the Salvation Army was born.

This volume has been prepared in answer to many urgent requests from teachers and other workers. While there is abundant factual material available for nature teaching, there is a scarcity of illustrative material for bringing out the spiritual lessons which nature was originally designed to teach. There is no attempt to make the subject matter exhaustive, for the obvious reason that nature is infinite in its scope, and no amount of study could ever exhaust its lessons. Since it is the expression of the thoughts of God, there will be an eternity of study before the nature student, and yet he will ever find new wonders to explore, new mysteries to solve. In the preparation of this material the author has consulted many works of a technical nature, dealing with all phases of science and nature study; he has also drawn from the writings of several world-renowned authors, among whom are the names of Ellen G. White, Hugh Macmillan, Henry Drummond, Charles Spurgeon, and others.
These "notebook leaflets"-first published in the 1920s-were printed to make available to ministers and gospel workers choice materials that are found in the Ellen G. White manuscript and letter files. More than ninety percent of this material was unavailable when reprinted in 1945.The series is composed of four groups of leaflets: CHRISTIAN EXPERIENCE-which has 16 chapters covering many of the experiences Christians go through in this life. THE CHURCH-containing eight chapters on doctrines and the Scriptures. EDUCATION-six chapters such as home training and church school. METHODS-thirteen chapters showing how to present truth and the use of medical missionary work with evangelism.

James Edson White offers his views on Christ's relation to the world and the signs that herald his return. He writes: "The primary object of this book is to present the Bible view of Christ as the coming King. In its pages we look forward to the time when, not as the Leader of Israel, neither as the Man of Sorrows will he appear to this world, but as One who comes in the blaze of His own glory and of His father's also." The section on the Signs of the Times makes for an interesting reading from a historical perspective.
The history of mankind is chiefly the record of the character and exploits of the men and women who exerted the greatest influence upon their generation and nation while the Scriptures were written to reveal to the human family a Person - its author and chief subject, Jesus Christ."Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thornes, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the Man!" - John 19:5

This fourth volume of the On a Wing and a Prayer series, like the other three books, is carefully hemmed by that beloved admonition that saves us from blind imaginings; whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and absolutely full of praise! Before you begin reading, I challenge you to consider my new hypothesis: "For those who can hear it, there is healing in the song of a bird."
