This book is an autobiographical collection of poems that chronicles the author's life as she went through some of the hardest times in her life. Her commentary brings insight into the origins of the poems and how readers can see God leading her through the wilderness to a new marriage and stronger senses of faith and peace. Shontisha Martin is the mother of three handsome young men, a wife, a high school teacher of fifteen years, and a woman of faith. She truly found the lord for herself at age of fifteen. If you ask her, "her life is a testament of faith." She buried her first three children and God blessed her to have 3 more. Her eldest son died and came back again at age thirteen. Her first marriage ended in a divorce and God blessed her to find love once again. Throughout all of life's ups and downs, she has held onto her faith and God has seen her through.
It started out as a chance meeting through online dating, but became an unbelievable example of Unusual Love, which is the title for author William Vance's new memoir.William had just endured a very trying time with his former wife, Anne Marie, who had dissolved their marriage through her addictions to gambling, leading to a divorce. So, when William decided to look into online dating, he was mainly looking for just casual companionship with a female and see where it would go.He soon connected with Cynthia, one who was divorced herself and dealing with severe family issues. Their conversations became more serious and intimate to where William asked Cynthia to come to Pennsylvania and marry him, to which she agreed. But their matrimonial bliss would be changed forever when a devastating car accident led to both enduring painful injuries and Cynthia's memory and personality begin to decline. The situation was further complicated when Cynthia's sister took Cynthia away from William to live in another state, causing the confusion to worsen Cynthia's already evaporating memory.Yet through it all, William stayed faithful to God and to Cynthia, which is what drew him to write of their love story. He wanted others to know of how amazing their love was, as well as how evident it was God's fingerprints were all over their lives and love.Even when each visit had Cynthia forgetting more of the love she had with William, William is convinced that God allowed them to keep having time together to keep their love alive until Cynthia gave her breathless last words of "I love you" to William.William and Cynthia's love story is not a typical love story everyone has, but just like our love story with God is not typical but unusual and wonderful, the same can be said for theirs. William Vance was a machinist most of his life, a professional scout, and a worker in big brothers of America association. Loves to read, this is my first book Unusual Love. Always loved writing. Working on writing a sequel. I have two children, a boy and a girl, as well as two grandsons.
My intension for writing this book is to help others who have or are going through similar situations. If anyone reading this has been in a preacher''s family back in the 50''s through the 70''s, you maybe can relate to my life stories. Opinions and ideas have changed through the generations but God and His word never change. I want readers to not lose hope. When all else fails,God will be there every time. I am able to testify to this. I love people. I am a person who wants to be liked and accepted by everyone. I take things to heart and am empathetic to others, probably because of what I have gone through myself. As a youngster up until my later adult years,I never had my own opinions. I wasn''t sure what I believed but when I was in my forties, I finally developed my own opinions. I never changed my beliefs about God though. I always prayed that He''d never let go of me and He never did.

This is the personal account of true events from one who has been divinely favored. It is the story of one born with a crippling illness and yet experienced triumphs and blessings that oftentimes defied explanation. It is a time of painfully learning limitations and at the same time stretching the boundaries of life which fate sought to hold captive. This story is a true illustration of a life whose journey went through struggles with torturous pains, high fevers combined with the threat of heart attack, stroke and general organ failure. I was on a roller coaster ride of exciting highs and excruciatingly painful lows. Through divine favor all of these things were laid to rest giving me over 27 years without a single crisis and free from all symptoms. I didn't take any medications throughout this period. God took control of my life and turned me into a living witness that He is Lord over life and death. From age thirty-two to present I've experienced things that I never dreamed would be possible and the awakening to God's mind blowing presence has propelled me to heights I couldn't have imagined. I came to realize that God was orchestrating a beautiful love affair with me that has the potential to touch the heart of the unbeliever as well as encourage God's community of faith into further opening their minds to the wonderful possibilities that the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent God of our salvation can provide. God's miracles are still available today as much as they were when Jesus walked in the flesh. If you have doubts then this book is for you. Perry has been blessed with a lovely wife, five beautiful daughters, two honorable son in-laws, eight gorgeous grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Everyone has a story to tell, with each having moments of growth, heartbreak, blessing, and/or clarity. This book focuses most on meeting people right where they are in their pain, understanding that God uses the other side of storms as trophies of mercy. A perfect example of how God uses an ordinary person's brokenness in extraordinary ways is to help others achieve joy. Dr. Pammy Jean enhances each chapter by relaying stories from her past (drug addict, runaway, and abused by others), as well as from her professional expertise with a doctorate in behavioral science and education. She includes appropriate Scripture references, thought-provoking and interactive questions, and resources to use in expanding one's insight. Each chapter's topic relates not only to the author's life, but exposes rooted undertones of hidden brokenness within the unhealed reader. As readers identify with the purposes of their storms, they deepen their relationships with God. It takes time, energy, and desire, as relationships don't happen by accident. It also takes the obedience of being completely open and honest with all your faults and feelings. Trust God's wisdom to be perfect, and you will have a joyful life. Dr. Pammy Jean offers "Understanding Your Journey" as healing through spiritual perspective. It can be said that you are as close to God as you choose to be.

This book is for anyone who has been put down or written off. If you were told you cannot this book will show you otherwise. With me, you will see this book written from both sides, first growing up as a child, enduring multiple hardships, facing impossible odds. Uniquely, you will see a transformation of my mind with faith in Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. You will see two sides, one that is a personal experience and the other as a professional experience. This book is my personal testimony, exposing not just the systems flaws but the outrageous and abusive injustice it foists upon precious innocent children. Ultimately, though it is a story of redemption, as it chronicles the journey of one youth determined not to become just another statistic/victim of undeniably tragic circumstances. I pray my triumph serves as a model for future hope and positive change, for all who are suffering and potentially for the system as a whole, but only if the message gets out there letting the public know how things really work and why it must not continue without a major overhaul right down to its very core!
Matthew 25:21 shares a statement from Jesus of the highest compliment and reward one wishes to gain at the end of his/her life: the recognition from God of "well done, good and faithful servant." The verse to many comes at the culmination of a life that was lived well and lived faithfully to a God that loved endlessly and a Savior who died to save us. It is even more important when one realizes that life is fleeting and living in faith is the only way to live. Author Tikita Peagler shares how this understanding of scripture has led her to pursue what is right and good in God's eyes in her new book, Well-Done: The Journey of a Well-Doer. Within the book are several examples of characteristics that women who are well-doers for God exemplify as they go through experiences of life that are both good and bad. Among the topics are well-doers give themselves grace, are always praying, pursue with purpose, and more. Enclosed within each well-doer characteristic are personal stories of the author and biblical stories to personify what the attribute is in real life, reflection questions, and a closing prayer. Readers will enjoy the stories about the author's life and walk of faith with her family, as well as stories of the Bible that are as relevant today as when they were written. Tikita's hope is that in reading Well-Done: The Journey of a Well-Doer, readers will feel inspired to live their lives in a manner fitting to God, with the desire for God to commend them on their faithfulness and welcome them with open arms into heaven. What we must remember is that we were each created with a godly purpose in mind that God will help us achieve if we surrender and follow His lead.

As many of us can attest, it is difficult to watch the people we care about lose their way in life. When we notice our friends, children, and loved ones being led astray by others or by their own unique circumstances, it is not uncommon for us to become frustrated or disheartened when those closest to us begin to depart from the way we knew them to be. This can be doubly true for the faithful-as believers, what happens when our people begin to stray from God Himself? In Hand Him Over to the Enemy: How Does a Momma Do That?, author Krisan Markese answers this question and more. Instructed by God's voice to let her child go his way in the world, she grappled with doubt, fear, and failure on this journey to becoming secure in the knowledge that God's will over her and her son's life would be enacted. Just as Abraham needed only faith when asked to sacrifice his son Isaac, so should the parents, friends, spouses, and relatives of wandering people find their peace in the Lord. Complete with key Scriptures, personal anecdotes, guided prayers, and even song recommendations, this daily devotional seeks to remind readers that God can and will prevail over everything, and thereby put at ease the weary hearts of everyone who's watched a loved one wander. KRISAN MARKESE has been in full time ministry for nearly 40 years, ministering with her husband Pastor Ron Markese. Krisan was ordained thru Joan Hunter Ministries in 2014 and has recently been serving in her local church in southwest Florida.
