The present book is the second book in a seven book series entitled “The Seven Pillars of Discipleship.” This particular book is based on the church and its doctrines. The concept behind the book grew from a desire to see the people of God grow in regard to their salvation. The church has always been a burden on my heart. Why is the holiness of God, righteousness, repentance and judgment no longer part of the church’s DNA? Of course I am speaking very generally for the most part. But that is why this book was written. Though it is written in the form of a bible study, the goal is to ask questions to lead one to think in regards to God’s righteous standards and man’s lowly state. Dr. Terren L. Dames was born in Nassau, Bahamas, has been married to his one wife Stacy for 20 years with four Children. Dr. Dames presently serves as senior pastor and elder at North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship in Plano Texas. He has an earned PhD from the University of North Texas in comparative higher education and cognate in Christian higher education, a Th.M. from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in practical theology, a MA from Dallas Theological Seminary in Christian Education and a BA from the College of Biblical Studies in Leadership.  I grew up a deeply religious Catholic. At 21, my military husband chose to find his bliss elsewhere & I found myself over 600 miles from home, a single mother of two children under two. Devastated & heartbroken, mere religion gave me little comfort - I felt alone & completely unlovable! A few months later, I heard the gospel message of Christ’s unconditional love & responded to His invitation to enjoy a personal relationship with Jesus, my Savior. It revolutionized my life! While attending an interdenominational home prayer group, I also experienced Jesus as the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit which gave me the power needed to live for Him. Eventually, I joined the Assemblies of God where I taught Sunday School for many years. Clearly, teaching is my spiritual gift, & I operated in it until health problems began to prohibit church attendance. I’m thankful for James River Church in Springfield, MO from which I “attend” services via live streaming which has been a great blessing to me. When I opened my Facebook account about 11 years ago, I began posting a daily devotion for my friends & family. I now post daily in 17 groups as well as my own page. At the prompting of several readers, I pursued the possibility of publishing this book of devotions.The world can continually suck the Life of God out of us if we allow it. Many Christians are content to keep Jesus in one compartment of their hearts, therefore living powerless, fruitless lives while awaiting their heavenly home. I’ve learned that when Jesus is the center of our lives, we can be elevated to much greater heights for God’s glory. That’s the purpose of this devotional. Having worked on a Films for Christ production he was inspired to begin work on his own films however things took a turn. He fell in love with a small-town movie theatre. While still operating the theatres he traveled and sang gospel music and working as the sound tech. He also drove the entertainer bus to get everyone the next church or concert venue. After retiring, she founded S.A.C.R.E.D. Life Academy for Boys, a Christian school focused on building character and accommodating the educational needs of boys. Dr. Greene is currently an educational consultant and lives in southern Maryland with her husband, Vernon. They have two married children and six amazingly beautiful grandchildren.

These differences mixed with numerous of others, makes us as universally unique as our fingerprints.Just like our universally unique differences, God has an equally universally unique plan to bring each of us to Himself and to the knowledge of His truths. Only when we become born again by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, do we begin to understand the wisdom of God’s love. While we were yet sinners or thinking and living by the different influences that mold us, God sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever may believe in Him, shall not parish but have everlasting life.  Kathy Salazar was born in New York City and was raised in Harlem. She left school at 16 to help support her family and began writing while still very young and has continued on throughout the years.“In The Presence of Christ” is a compilation of poems and stories that was written over time. They were inspired by different events that happened in her life such as “Meeting Mother Mary” in 1970 and waking up “Paralyzed” in 1992.The “Ninth Candle” was inspired by true events as was most of the stories in the book.  “Choose Life” are her thoughts of issues that are very relevant to our world today. The “Nonchalant Priest” is a concern that is sometimes seen in the church. What can we do to help the Priest be filled once again with the burning desire to serve Our Lord God with all his heart? God has played an important part in her life and her friendship with several priests over the years was an inspiration for her to learn to understand their own sacrifices.This book is filled with love and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ and to her commitment to following His Way.

This book is based on a true story. In 2009 my brother and his wife were expecting their third child. They expected a perfect and healthy baby girl as the sonograms and tests did not indicate otherwise. However, that was not the case. My niece, Makayla, was born with terminal health issues and the prognosis was very poor. In other words the doctors stated she would not survive. This news was devastating for my brother and his wife, as well as the entire family. We knew our only hope was to pray and trust God. This journey has not been easy for them. Makayla is now 11 years old and God has performed one miracle after another in her life. She is able to hold a conversation, maneuvers her wheelchair with ease, and uses her IPad like a pro. She is God's masterpiece and He will always keep her in the palms of His hands. Prayer is a conversation with God. You can talk with Him about your uncertainties, your difficulties, and your joys. In other words you can talk with Him about anything and everything! He is waiting and wants to hear from you. My prayer is that as you read this book, prayer becomes the one thing you cannot live without. A breath of hope in times of trouble, ray of sunshine when life is hazy, and an expression of gratitude when life is good. Yudelka Lugo, or "Judy" as she prefers to be called is a wife and a mother, who led the Girls Ministry for over 10 years and enjoys teaching the word of God. Let’s see what happens! Cassandra Bishop currently resides in South Carolina. Writing children’s books became a passion while attending a creative writing class at New Paltz College in New York. There, a hidden talent became a dream that eventually birthed into a reality. A desire to continue education at Phoenix University and complete a Bachelor Health Administration degree. Eventually I obtained a Masters degree in Mental Health Counselor was achieved at Webster University. The main concentration of the career is in cognitive behavioral therapy, substance abuse, and working with children. Family traditions consist of praying, fun, and celebrations. These memories inspire her to write children’s books focusing on various types of relationships. The book reveals how peer problems challenge children to become better people by applying principles from the Bible.

In this book I share a part of my life’s journey illustrating how I learned that the greatest relationship that I can have is a relationship with God and myself. So, I can help other people have a better relationship with God and with themselves. My readers will understand whatever you do in life you must always be prepared to deal with the consequences. In the chapters of my book I describe different types of relationships that can heavily affect the way we live our lives. For interest, Chapter 3 titled “Vampires” which talks about negative people that can drain the life out of you and wear you down. Then there is Chapter 4 titled “The Fantastic Fours” which explains how we can experience life the way Joseph did in Genesis 37:12-41:43, from the pit to the palace. I call the stages of Joseph’s life the four P’s: From the pit, to Potiphar’s House, to prison and then to the palace. In Chapter 5 titled “Obstacles” I share that the biggest obstacles I face is myself. Like blaming the pass for present failures and realizing the difference from laziness and slothfulness is maximum effort. This book is the tell all compilations of experience I encounter after my divorce in 2005 and becoming a part time father of two boys.
