This story explores the lives of two individuals whose approaches to challenges presented, widely differ. Both ladies work at the same firm and lose their positions for reasons beyond their understanding. With the similar scenarios they find themselves in, and a resulting disparity in their circumstances surfacing, it can be said that a sense of wisdom or a higher level of maturity favors one over the other. Somehow, in life, the manner in which we respond to any challenges, paves the way to what may be encountered. The reader of this story will experience the novelty of twists and turns. "The Art of the mind" is a culmination of thoughts, ideas, dreams, shaping a schematic display that represents a response to a given set of circumstances. This book is about the journeys little girls go through in order to become mighty women of God: mentally, physically, and spiritually. Ten year old Alex had no idea of what his mom meant when she mentioned a 'black hole' that was supposedly under his bed. All he knew was when he found his Swiss Army knife, which he knew had to be somewhere under his bed, he would sneak out his bedroom window and head for his fort to meet up with his buddies. He knew his mom would be mad and he would again lie about cleaning up his bedroom that resembled a war zone. Alex had learned over the years how to 'sweet talk' his mother, which led to Alex's diminished time spent in 'jail'. He knew it wasn't right to not help his mother as he should; after all, with his father in Heaven, Alex was the only 'man' in the household. But he didn't behave like a man or a young boy that his father would have been proud of. And so he continued with his unbecoming behavior, clueless of what lay before him. Alex's unexpected journey from under his bed into a strange and often terrifying land helped him to develop from a distrustful and unruly little boy to a faithful, trusting and reliable young man! My name is Karen Kay ( Ketcheson) Sharp and I am originally from Lansing, Michigan. I have always had a desire to write. After graduating high school, I went to college to become a Registered Nurse and worked adult critical care and pediatric emergency care for over forty years, which, along with the six children that I had, didn't leave me much time to devote to serious writing. What makes this story precious to me is that it's been on the back burner for the last twenty five years and I finally completed it, February 28th, 2020!

This is a collection of poetry for everyone. We all need hope. I believe these words will exalt the Lord, and bring joy, peace, hope, healing, and comfort to a world who is in need of encouragement. I believe the words on the pages of this book were given to me from our great God to bless all those who need a spiritual hug and need comfort. Blessings and love to those in need of a spiritual touch. As a wife and mother, of three sons, I've had to bear the daily highs and lows of every-day life. Through much prayer, and a relationship with my savior, Jesus Christ, I've learned that His love for us compares to nothing else in this world. In 2013, I lost my son, Joseph. He was born with a major heart defect, and died after his 3rd heart surgery. Of course, I'll never get over it, but, the Lord gives me grace to stand.I cherish the memories, with joy and tears. Although, bitter- sweet, the Lord comforts me.

God loves us beyond anything we can imagine. His overwhelming desire is for us to spend eternity with Him in His kingdom of Heaven. Satan tries to thwart that plan by convincing mankind to desire evil. Evil cannot exist in in the presence of God's holiness. All who desire evil are destined for Hell. We hear very little about eternity and Heaven, even less is mentioned about Hell and Satan. That is Satan's plan. He wants us to be consumed with the present. (1). He doesn't want us to think about the reality of our future. (2). He doesn't want us to know the reality of eternity. (3). He doesn't want us to know the reality of God or Heaven. (4). Satan, especially, doesn't want us to know who he is or the reality of Hell. He wants to keep it as quiet as he can. HE WANTS TO KEEP US IN THE DARK! Hell and Heaven are very real destinations for each and every one of us. WE WILL EITHER SPEND ETERNITY IN HEAVEN WITH GOD, OUR CREATOR, OR WE WILL LIVE FOREVER IN HELL'S FIRE WITH SATAN AND HIS FALLEN ANGELS. THE CHOICE IS OURS. I PRAY YOU WILL CHOOSE HEAVEN!!!

The testimony of Jesus Christ is life changing to those who believe. Sometimes a sense of accomplishment is just not enough. One writes a book like this in order to help others and to influence the future for Christians and non-Christians alike, whether laymen or professionals. I'm hoping to stimulate many people, and Christians, in particular, to explore the challenging concepts of their own psychology of conversion or an earnest search for their own significance, all of which takes time to process but, when better understood, shows that faith helps in ways that modern medicine never could. My job is to clarify and elaborate, not force. With the presentation of a new paradigm, I am hoping to prompt many Christian psychiatrists to practice more fully and effectively, to give Christian psychiatry its legitimate place within the profession of organized psychiatry, and to better inform patients in choosing their provider for the greatest possible healing and growth.This book is a calling cultivated during a lifetime of practice which shows tested and proven experiences of greater healing, hope and faith. So, it is a delicate process, woven between the poles of humility on the one hand and responsibility for making a helping effort on the other. And this is true, or it should be, of all helping professional practice -- to do what needs to be done and, moreover, know how it works pragmatically in life - in each of our lives. This is why I am prone to say that "God ain't stupid and He ain't impractical," and, thus, that "the Lord ain't just whistling Dixie!" because "we are all swimming in the same stuff." The dream of the purely biological understanding of man, the dream of secular humanistic psychiatry, is a delusion: it is based on a reductionistic, purely materialistic worldview. The Christian's worldview begins with, is an expression of, and ends with, the spirit world. The well-rounded and balanced Christian realizes that the world, however, is hardly only spirit, nor is man.
