The life of a Dreamer assassin has left a bad taste in Astrid Beal's mouth. After striking a deal with her employer, the Legacy, for early retirement, she's content to live a nice quiet life as a successful restaurateur. So why the hell would a Dreamer with unheard-of powers attack her in her home and dump her almost lifeless body on the doorstep of the most famous Catcher in Dreamer history?
Lucien Drake has gotten used to having a target on his back. Because of their parentage, the Legacy would like nothing more than to see him, and his sister, Somiar, destroyed. When a half dead Dreamer shows up in his driveway, he's sure the Legacy are up to their old tricks. Unfortunately for him, the Legacy and Dreamers aren't the only ones he has to worry about. According to a group of immortals who have inserted themselves into his life, he and Astrid, along with The Legacy, must come together to defeat a common enemy. To lose would mean the end of humanity.
