A Gift from Morpheus? The unusual genesis of A Life in Secret

Analysis of the work "A life in secret" by Autran Dourado, from the critical reception, the author's statements and comparison to the short story "A simple heart" by Gustavo Flaubert. The dissertation analyzes the critical reception of the work studied, namely the novella genre tracing a study of the character Biela, the melopoetics , as well as a comparative study between Biela and Felicité. It also brings Dourado's statement about the fact that the whole work was conceived by a dream.
