I was just about to have the girls help me put some soap on our pony and give him a bath when a vehicle drove up beside our old dairy barn on our farm. It was a 318is BMW Montreal blue 2-door sports car, and it was very cool. I hadn't seen any cars like that since I left Los Angeles, California years ago. The door opened and out stepped this woman. That is when I met Cheryl, and that is when my life changed forever. She was desperate to move her horse from the terrible situation he was in, and she asked me if I would be willing to take her horse in at our farm. Little did I know that this chance meeting would take me on a journey of becoming a living kidney donor, along with the good and bad that was all part of it.
