A Lotus will Bloom

As a lotus blooms, its blossoms unfold one by one. Each poem in each section is an unfolding blossom, as each reflects the writer speaking her truth and growing from the release the poem gives. Many of the poems are inspired by life events and experiences. The Lotus signifies 'resilience, rebirth and strength', and so the poems are a reminder that despite damning circumstances that try to sometimes bury us in metaphorical mud, we can, like the Lotus, go through it and still bloom. A Lotus will Bloom is a collection of 41 poems covering a range of topics. The collection is divided into four sections - Mental Health; The Heart Speaks, Social Justice and Equality, and Representation of Women. Embodied in these poems are the unexpressed emotions of anyone who has survived trauma, loss, or heartbreak; who've had to deal with social pressures, and try to find their place in space. The poems are a nudge to say - "hey, you are not alone; one day you will bloom".
