A Mystery In Canyon

Cambridge, Massachusetts 1980 Raven laid on the bathroom floor with her flaming cheek pressed to the cool tile. How long had she lain there? It had seemed like hours. Sitting up she looked at her watch, 40 minutes, only 40 minutes. The events of the morning were life altering. She could still feel the sting of the back of Kurt's hand on her cheek. "What did I do to deserve such a miserable life?" she moaned from the pain in her hip and ribs. She ran a washcloth under the cold water then grimaced as she held it to her cheek.Looking in the mirror she could see that the whole left side of her face was already turning a nice shade of blue. "Why does he always pick the face?" she asked.
