About A Whisper away from Heaven

Burcell Strachan was certain that joining his childhood friend Henry on this new work program called the "Contract" would be a great opportunity to make the needed monies to take better care of their young families. It was a hard sell to his wife Myrtis and his sister Edwina, but he just knew that an opportunity like this does not come by very often and the timing was perfect - they were living hand to mouth, struggling to care for their basic needs, but for the help of his younger sister Edwina. He adored his two children, especially his baby girl Priscilla, whom everyone called Scilla and his mirror image of a son Wilberforce. He and Myrtis were not in the most loving of a marriage, but he wanted to do his endeavor best to give his family the best that he could. This story follows the life of his family as he moves away for the job of a lifetime, literally and it is not until forty-three years later that the void he created when he left on 4th October, 1947 begins to to unravel, when his new family pays a visit to his old family.
