Against a Sea of Troubles

Mariah, a bookbinder's daughter, seems doomed to a life of domesticity, betrothed to a man twice her age on the other side of the world. She is on her way to her dreaded wedding, sailing from England to Jamaica, when her ship stumbles upon a pirate: Toussaint "Bad Weather" Dupuis. This pirate bears a curse from the Aztec god of storms to bring tragedy upon whoever is near him. Mariah joins with him anyway, taking inspiration from his free spirit to break from her betrothal and take to the sea. Together, these two pirates will battle against the forces of oppression that plague the Caribbean, but how long can they continue to sail ahead of hurricanes before the stubborn god of storms claims his promised soul?
