On a dark Alaska winter night, Annabeth Neilson is working late at her brand-new job, an animal rescue organization, when she is confronted by a gunman demanding something. What? She has no idea. The trail of clues, scant as they are, takes the pair from the animal shelter to a remote Alaska town accessible only through a one-way tunnel that closes down each night, to a cabin in the woods and back again. They must get to the bottom of the gunman's demands before becoming victims of his bullets.
