While in the process of recovering from a bad breakup and feeling the need for a sense of accomplishment, Emily attempts to convince her best friend Amy to be the subject of online dating research for a novel that she has been unsuccessfully attempting to write. Failing to convince her, Emily decides to take on the role herself and signs up for a dating website. After all, how much could the dating world have changed over the past decade? With the help of Amy and their two canine companions, Emily maneuvers the difficult, entertaining, and sometimes even dangerous experiences of online dating, while ultimately discovering the power of friendship and the importance of being true to oneself.
