While driving through town Mayor Butler realized he had never seen the alleys of Main Street. Neither east nor west. He had seen the sidewalks, walls, parade grounds, and the other pieces and holes of town but never the alleys. He thought, "Is it geographically pertinent to my understanding of this place?"
