Balancing Rock

The Midwestern extended family had a troublesome spring which shook their equilibrium. First one of their beloved family members had been severally injured on vacation and then the loss of the family's patriarch during a storm. Things were beginning to get back to normal.
Then illness and circumstance stepped in to try to topple their confidence. One of the steadiest rocks of the family was struck down by a severe illness, while others faced unforeseen circumstances. Together, they tried to regain their balance.
