This is a collection of excerpts about the Persian Gulf Region prior to Operation Desert Storm. There is a special focus on Soviet/Russian advances towards the Gulf Region. This is an academic work and is designed to create many a lively discussion, and, hopefully, a follow-up book called "Before and After: How American Interventions Have Changed the Dynamics of the Persian Gulf Region."
