Jazz is trying not to be miserable.
In the last few months, she found out that the Brain disease that was painfully killing her was not a disease at all, but a drug she had been given to forget she had a brother. As soon as Jazz remembered she had a brother, she learned that he had died.
Somehow, his death was the reason she is now living in the middle of nowhere as part of the Witness Protection Program with five other women.
The Mayor and his Therapist wife try daily to make them feel comfortable. Jazz isn't buying it. It's not that she thinks they are lying about what happened. They just aren't telling her the whole truth.
Now, even her daily walks to clear her head have to be chaperoned because her arm is in a sling. To top it off, one guard in particular, a silent giant she thought might be Sasquatch, is constantly on her mind.
You would be miserable too.
