Lane was raised by absurdly strict and conservative parents. Without the slightest awareness of her naivety, she suddenly finds herself cast alone and penniless into the surreal world of the '80s. A time before the modern advances of the technology revolution. Cellphones hadn't been invented. The internet, GPS and social media didn't yet exist. It was common to lose track of one's friends and family for weeks or even months at a time.
With hope and resilience, Lane learns to navigate the exciting, dramatic, and sometimes heart- wrenching realities of life - that are often hidden below the surface.
