The purpose of this pamphlet is to educate the reader in the area of bullying behavior. Normally when people say bullying, they think of four types of participants. They are the bully, the victim, the follower, and the bystander. My assemblies place the greatest emphasis on participant number five, the leader. A leader is a person who quits being a bystander and performs an act of love for the victim. I have discovered from the students' letters as well as statements at the end of the assemblies that the only way bullying behavior is reduced or even eliminated is when the bystanders don't want it in their schools. As you read this pamphlet, picture yourself in your school auditorium. You are between 10 and 15 years old and one of the types of bully participants in every school. Are you a bully, a follower, a bystander, or a victim? I am making the assumption that the odds are great that you are not a leader. I was bullied in middle school. My story is captured in the pamphlet. I still remember being bullied like it happened yesterday. The pamphlet also shows the story of my son Curt being bullied in elementary and middle school. Perhaps these stories will remind you of the times spent in school.

Gathering the courage to write a eulogy, wedding, bar mitzvah, graduation, or birthday toast can be challenging. Making your audience laugh through their tears is typically the goal. Sami Greenfield's stories on grief, love, infertility, fear, and gratitude, are meant to inspire readers to share their own bursts of joy when they raise a glass. Life experiences can be positive when the lesson reveals itself and you are pushed forward. Greenfield calls these moments of discovery "joybursts." The book speaks to readers in a funny, deeply personal, relatable manner, inspiring conversations about difficult subjects.Give this book with a bottle of wine to a friend who is anxious about her upcoming empty nest, who is recently widowed, is planning her mother's eightieth birthday, or whose sister is newly engaged. Return for a cup of coffee to hear what made her laugh, cry, and relive her own memories. In Bury Me in My Bathing Suit, Greenfield sprinkles her stories with a toast that inspires one's own opportunity to raise a glass! Gramma Phyllis is a snarky character (in every sense of the word!) throughout the essays, and she shares one of her pie recipes at the end of each section. Baking together has always been a way to ease anxiety and connect with Greenfield's own family.Sami also shares some great lessons learned about grief after watching her parents, Pake and Pookie, go through cancer, and with her elderly neighbor Dale, rescuing an owl, Owlivia, and sharing her eventual death with her community. From meeting her husband on the middle school blacktop breakdancing to helping her Dad surprise her Mom with a stripper on her fortieth birthday, Greenfield's stories will make readers laugh through their tears.

Can Li get over the hurdles of being a single mother without losing herself in the process?"--

A practical and simple tool that helps parents find questions to ask and a way to connect with their children day after day. We've all been there: The kids come home from school tired and distracted, and we try to connect with them by asking the same questions day after day. Well, this book will help you find the right questions to connect with your child today and every day. "How was school?" "What did you learn today?" "Did you have fun?" If we are lucky, we might get a little more than "Fine" or "It was good" in return. Maybe we're asking the wrong questions. The good news is that this book will help you find the right questions to connect with your child every day. Stop Asking "How Was Your Day?" is an invaluable tool that can be used again and again. Easy to flip through while waiting in the pickup lane outside school or before sitting down to dinner, this book provides diverse and open-ended questions for parents of schoolchildren of all ages and walks of life. Some questions are fun, some are thoughtful, and some are silly. Ultimately, this book is about communication. As we all know, communication is a two-way street, and Stop Asking "How Was Your Day?" alternates the queries with "Lead by Example" sections that prompt parents to share something from their own experiences to help them connect with their children.

More to Life is a series of entertaining and personal observations on a wide range of subjects. As a legacy to benefit grandchildren, individual essays are derived from a lifetime of personal experience from which others may also benefit. The essay on Religion, for example, begins before anyone believed there was a supernatural deity who exists today for nearly everyone. The previous thousands of years that lacked such an individual is rarely considered. Other essays deal with personal issues like Marriage, Happiness, and Aging. There seems no greater interest for grandchildren than the wise examples that comes with a grandparent's advancing years.More to Life discusses several important subjects that are likely to change your attitude, such as Trust, Risk, and simply Getting Along with others. The essay on Movies should interest those who have enjoyed movies for several years, but have no knowledge of its history. Readers may also enjoy the essays on Money, Wealth, and Luck, which often affects us all.Readers may not care about Politics, but they certainly care about Pain, which is frequently the result of deficient politicians. Essays on Beauty, Color, and Personality affects many of us to one extreme or another. Readers should now turn to the opening page and enjoy what follows.

Gestational diabetes is one of the types of diabetes diagnosed during pregnancy for the first time. It affects the cell's capability to use sugar, resulting in high blood sugar levels, which can affect the pregnancy and health of the baby. The most common cause of gestational diabetes is a change in hormone levels that makes it difficult for the body to efficiently process blood sugar. There are several complications associated with gestational diabetes, such as increased risk of breathing difficulties in infants, hypoglycemia, excessive birth weight, preterm birth and obesity. In certain cases it may also result in still birth. Diagnosis involves a screening test between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy. Initial glucose challenge test and follow-up glucose tolerance testing are routine screening procedures for gestational diabetes. Treatment and management for gestational diabetes includes medication, blood sugar monitoring and certain lifestyle changes. Repeated ultrasounds for examining the growth and development of an infant become paramount in the course of treatment. This book provides comprehensive insights into gestational diabetes. It presents researches and studies on the nutritional aspects of this disease as well as its complications and treatment. This book will serve as a valuable source of reference for graduate and post graduate students.

There are several problems associated with breastfeeding including nipple soreness, breast engorgement, plugged milk duct, breast infection, thrush, and inability to produce enough milk for the needs of the baby. Some factors such as poor feeding techniques, wrong position of the baby while breastfeeding and not taking care of the nipples contribute to the development of nipple soreness. The treatment for this condition involves performing a gentle massage to breasts, reducing distractions in the duration of breastfeeding, and providing heat treatment to the breasts. This book outlines the problems of breastfeeding along with their solutions. It presents researches and studies performed by experts across the globe. • - Preparing Your Child to Begin Adulting in the Teen Years
    by Brian Michael Stegner
    £9.49

Adolescence is a modern invention, a time where our kids' bodies have grown up but their social lives and responsibilities often haven't. And unfortunately this stage of life seems to be ballooning larger and larger, with young men living at home and playing video games well into their twenties, with little or no interest in vocation, marriage, or anything smacking of responsibility.I am of the opinion that adolescence is totally unnecessary. As parents, we have chosen to erase this stage from our children's lives as much as possible. We have patterned our process after rites of passage used in other cultures and in earlier times where adulthood was thrust upon young men at a time of their father's choosing, usually being given a knife and a slap on the backside as they were sent to live or die on some sort of quest, and womanhood being simply apparent at menstruation. Now before you call child services on us, we did not send our son into the wilderness with a match and a tarp to find his manhood, nor did we tie adulthood to the reproductive maturation of any of our children. Instead we decided to do it more like the Jewish do bar or bat mitzvahs for their thirteen year olds (though we opted to make age twelve the magic number), and to have the process be very similar for each of our kids, regardless of gender. The coming of age "child-to-adult moment" happens on a week-long trip with Papa (Dad). They leave home as a child, and return as an adult. However, in devising this plan, I realized that it was sort of unrealistic of us, and maybe even unfair, to attempt to thrust them into "adulthood" at age twelve, without serious preparation. Therefore we introduced a pre-trip trip at age six, and then a bunch of other elements got added, and pretty soon we had a full-fledged discipleship plan for our kids, ages zero to thirty, pretty much up until they become parents themselves (Lord willing). Doing so requires Extreme Intentionality and Extreme Creativity. This book takes you through our plan, and equips you to create your own.

Buried in tiaras, glass slippers, and tulle? Have that once-cute-but-now-nauseatingly-annoying song stuck in your head because it's been playing non-stop for three days? Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by the princesses that seem to be invading our daughters' lives. However, with some real thought, we can see that those same perfect-haired, poufy dress clad, musical virtuoso's are, in fact, good role models for our daughters. Instead of just letting their eyes gloss over with glitter and sometimes less than creative lyrics, our girls can be gaining some great guidance for their lives. The princesses are wonderful examples on a variety of subjects, ranging from developing yourself, learning to deal with others, facing what life has to throw at you, as well, of course, as some good, realistic lessons on love. We just need to take the time to see it, and explain it to our girls so that they can learn the great lessons that are right there in front of them for the taking.
