About Christianity Without Religion
A tremendous summary of the gospel made relevant for the people of 21st century. This is the message of the gospel presented in a clear and compelling way. It is the message that has changed the lives of millions and will change your life too. "He has committed to us the message of reconciliation." (2 Cor. 5) The O'Higgins have written a fascinating book that explores the challenges and benefits of being a believer. It is an ancient message in a fresh form that connects with third Millennium people. "Christianity Without Religion" is a refreshing, challenging look at how not to get tangled up in all the 'religious' nonsense which has attached itself onto the true gospel message. The authors, Paul and Nuala O'Higgins, explain what it means to be truly free as a Christian - no longer tied down by your sins. I tried to read it at my usual snappy pace at first, but quickly realised that I was missing much of what they were saying. In this sense, it is a bit like an Epistle. Although the message is simple, there is a great deal of detail and meaning that can be easily missed. The writers understand the Judaic roots of Christianity, and illustrate well the inseparability of the Old and New Testament, as well as the modern implications of the traditional Jewish festivals. It would be most useful as a tool to help you study the Bible.
