This book offers an overview of the foreign and domestic policies of the administrations of José Vicente Concha (1914-1918) and Marco Fidel Suarez (1918-1923). It reveals that despite Colombia's neutrality, World War I had a significant impact on the economic and political development of the country during the first half of an era often referred to as the Conservative Republic.
