This is the concluding book of the Shangri-la Trilogy. It covers the first year of marriage of Justin and Djet, as they face the challenge of integrating their very different backgrounds.
The characters who have throughout the story been on the periphery, Vincent Kaine and Mike Kells, now, for a brief moment, take centre stage.
And it is fitting that Peter Fielding, whose arrival at Shangri-la began the story, has the final word.
