About Counting on the Cowboy
A Second Chance at Love Western Romance
After a crushing divorce, Piper Hills Baker moves to Cassidy Falls, Texas, to breathe life into a run-down ranch that she receives as a settlement. While adjusting to her new home, Piper has an unexpected encounter, and as the ranch begins to come together in tandem with her feelings, she wonders if she might just be getting a second chance at love.
Sawyer has just moved back to Jefferson for the first time in three years since his beloved wife passed. Following her death, he took off, leaving those behind him with no sign of his whereabouts. Now, he's back with the little money he earned working in ranches around Texas, looking to start fresh in the place that he knows. But his money will only last him a short time, and he needs to find a job. At a bar, he hears that the old smith ranch on the outskirts of town is to be opened again, and they need an experienced rancher to do the work.
Piper arrives in Jefferson, but the ranch is not at all what she expected. Abandoned for years, the structures are dilapidated, and the neighboring ranch has encroached on the land. Piper hires Sawyer to help her, but it seems that her neighbor Noah Martinez is less than willing to let go of the land he has taken over. As they try to save the ranch amidst many obstacles, Sawyer and Piper develop a friendship that grows into something deeper.
This novel was previously published in six parts as The Ranch Series.
