Crossing the Atlantic Ocean in Search of Happiness

A striking fiction story. This is the story of Baba, a young adolescent from Mauritania, who decided to risk his life in order to escape poverty. As he sets out for an illegal boat trip across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe, Baba faces a series of challenges and obstacles throughout his quest for happiness.
Amadou was born in Nouadhibou, Mauritania. He came to the United States of America as a Fulbright Scholar and graduated from the Appalachian State University. Amadou is one of the first students from his country to write a fiction novel.
