Der junge Adlige Valentin hat eine Menge Schulden und ist gezwungen, sein Schicksal auf eine Wette zu setzen. Doch bald beginnt er zu erkennen, dass er mehr verliert als nur Geld. Kann er sich aus dieser Spirale aus Leidenschaft und Verzweiflung befreien?
