Dynamic Detente

This study examines the dynamic evolution of Western detente policies and the creation of a sustainable security framework built by the United States and its West European allies through cooperation, dialogue, and engagement with the Soviet Union. It also challenges the traditional Cold War narrative that detente prolonged the division of Europe.
