It is expected that with the application of appropriate rules appropriate rules and efforts made by the government to protect the environment in the development of IKN.Based on this study, the Forest City concept that is in accordance with the conditions of the prospective IKN area is a forest city dominated by forest-structured landscapes or green spaces that have ecosystem service functions such as forests and with an integrated landscape approach to create a life that coexists with nature. The Forest City concept is elaborated into six principles, namely: 1) conservation of natural resources and animal habitats; 2) connected to nature; 3) low carbon development; 4) adequate water resources; 5) controlled development (Anti-Sprawl Development); 6) community involvement in realising Forest City. Each principle is elaborated based on criteria and indicators to ensure that each principle can be fulfilled in the IKN development planning.
