Eric montross

Eric Montross was a retired American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1994 to 2003. He was born on September 23, 1971, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Montross played collegiate basketball at the University of North Carolina (UNC) from 1990 to 1994, where he was a two-time All-American and helped lead the Tar Heels to the NCAA National Championship in 1993. He was picked ninth overall by the Boston Celtics in the 1994 NBA draft and played for various teams throughout his career, including the Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets, and Toronto Raptors. Montross was also noted for his humanitarian activity, including his engagement in cancer research and his development of the Eric Montross Father's Day Basketball Camp, which collected cash for the UNC Children's Hospital.
Montross died away on December 18, 2023, at the age of 52 following his struggle against cancer.
