Can a newly bloomed romance survive murder? Lucy McKellan is a newswoman from the tip of her nose to her painted toes. As owner and editor of the only newspaper in her hometown of Whiskey Valley, she makes sure The Weekly packs a punch with plenty of who, what, when, where, why and how. When a philandering businessman dies, hints of foul play arise and prompt plenty of questions, and the suspect list grows like weeds in a seedy garden. Not content to leave the investigating to local law enforcement, Lucy and her co-workers take matters into their own hands much to the displeasure of Sheriff Jake Prescott, who has a personal stake in the investigation-keeping Lucy safe. As Lucy juggles her official snooping along with the new romance with Jake, danger draws closer, threatening more than their budding relationship.
