About Fragile Strength
When Phyllis Ann, as a first-year student at Washington and Jefferson College, became a member of a faculty committee, we knew a forceful young woman had joined us. Dedicated to identifying needs, stimulating solutions, and righting wrongs, she went about teaching her elders how it really was. From her notes on her life, we begin to understand the roles her Christian faith and her enduring strength of purpose have played in her life-long struggles against adversity.

This documentary speaks of a great spirit with us. Phyllis Ann dares to share many intricate moments in life and make sense of the nonsense. Her story is sure to encourage and empower others-particularly women. She has evolved as a delightful and spiritual overcomer despite painful circumstances. A must read for anyone struggling with moving forward instead of coping out of life.

Fragile Strength tells the story of an indomitable spirit of a woman who lived and loved fiercely despite being tried and tested to the fullest extent that one can imagine. A bright young girl who was saved by her love for learning and strong work ethic. Throughout her life's travels she was forced to find ways to overcome patterns of abuse, and eventually overcame the demons that kept attempting to destroy her. Despite it all, she grew stronger in her Christian faith especially when she found herself at rock bottom -- finally realizing that forgiveness would be her greatest life lesson.
