About Freak Therapy

When her father, who doesn't believe in depression, yells at her to 'slit her throat and be done with it', a girl who calls herself Lihini resolves to kill herself to end it all. She survives her attempt but soon realises that she's seeing beings that do not belong to her reality.Lihini confides in Dr. Nirved who assures her that the beings she sees are real. He explains that the terrifying creatures of folklore exist among humans and that she has gained the ability to see beyond their human disguises.Surprised by her lack of fear towards this knowledge and the creatures she has seen, Nirved offers Lihini a deal. She is to use her vision and courage to help him get rid of some inhuman beings in his ancestral house and he will provide everything Lihini needs to start a new life away from her toxic family.Lihini accepts the deal and travels with Nirved to his rural estate, where he introduces her to the servants as his fiance, much to the chagrin of the head maid. Lihini learns of Nirved's ancestor, Sri William Burton who trapped six inhuman creatures from various corners of the earth in the house's basement. Nirved introduces her to the six creatures in the basement who call themselves The Freaks. An Asura, a Kelpie, a Huli Jing, a Kishi, a Poltergeist, and Kuchisake Onna. While Lihini makes friends with the freaks, Nirved grows jealous as the female nine-tailed fox shows romantic interest towards the human girl. Observing the similarities between her family who put her in a mental cage and Nirved who showers her with his toxic love, Lihini finds sanctuary in the fox's arms and the company of the freaks, while re-learning how to love herself and others.Meanwhile, the incubus Kalu Kumara (Black Prince) who has been lurking in the shadows of the ancient house for centuries, hunting something much bigger than any human prey, finds it entertaining to tease and test the girl who shows no fear towards him or any other inhuman she meets.Perusing the collection of books in Sir Burton's library, Lihini finds clues to the spell that binds the freaks to the house and begins to unravel it with Nirved's help. As they get closer to the final steps, Nirved's father flies back to Sri Lanka, triggering a set of events that will eventually transform the kind-hearted girl into a cold-blooded murderess.
