Far from home, the friends find themselves in the holy city of Varanasi, searching for answers to impossible questions and seeking a coven of witches to help in their quest. However, the knowledge the coven brings proves more informative than Peter bargains for, and once more, he's left reeling at his true nature.

Peter's desire to protect those he loves threatens to suffocate. But when a new goddess is thrust into their path, he can't tell if he wants her or wants to destroy her, which tests his relationship with Connie more than ever.
