About Global Climate and Information
Climate change science is a complicated subject that balances the physical record and scientific fact with politics, policy, and ethics, and it is especially important to the geosciences. Climate change is, perhaps, the most pressing and contentious problem confronting the globe in the twenty-first century. It is difficult to grasp and minimize. Sorting out non-biased, straightforward information is a challenge that most people will avoid, until now!
Despite advances in batteries, electric vehicles, plant-based proteins, and solar and wind power, climate crisis is worsening. Its effects can be seen everywhere: heatwaves, droughts, floods, wildfires, global and US precipitation. Our planet is in the grip of a climate catastrophe and on the verge of a climate apocalypse. Nonetheless, despite our state of emergency, climate change has yet to be addressed with the intensity and ambition that it requires. We need a clear plan of action now more than ever.
In Global Climate and Information, David offers recommendations on how the rest of us might begin to prepare for the years ahead. He explains what to cultivate, what to eat, how to construct, how to insure, where to invest, how to prepare your children and pets, and even where to consider migrating if the time comes. (Two regions in particular have the necessary low temperatures, good hospitals, consistent access to water, and robust infrastructure to serve as climate havens in the coming years.) He also offers useful management advice.
