Heavy metals in smokeless tobacco products and their impact on health

This book is a sincere attempt by the authors to give a comprehensive account on the estimation of heavy metals from smokeless tobacco products. This book highlight the about the Smokeless tobacco (SLT) , classification of tobacco products, effects of smokeless tobacco on teeth, oral mucosa , blood pressure and blood lipid profile , respiratory system, pregnancy and risks of mortality due to smokeless tobacco. This book also highlight about the intoduction of heavy metals, heavy metals found in smokeless tobacco products and their toxicity. A comprehensive review of literature has also been included in this book. The present book incorporates methods of estimation of heavy metals from smokeless tobacco products. One of the chapter deals with the technique of Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy which has been used for the estimation of heavy metals form smokeless tobacco products which are frequntly used by teenagers.
