Dudley Garner and his wonderful wife of 56 years, Sue, (now deceased) have two children, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was reared in Franklin County, Tennessee by a loving mother and father along with six siblings. He accepted Jesus Christ as Savior at age twelve and later served locally at First Baptist Indialantic, Florida for thirty years and First Baptist Melbourne, Florida now twenty years. Garner's career was focused on the design, development, and manufacturing of electronic equipment for aerospace programs, including detailed design, program management, to President/CEO for high performance electronics for the rugged, hostile environments onboard aircraft, missiles, spacecraft and satellites, as well as their associated ground support equipment. Garner retired in 2010. He was very blessed, including financial assistance, to receive his BSEE degree from Tennessee Tech University. Garner started as an electronics design engineer with aerospace companies in the Dallas, Texas area where he earned an MSEE from Southern Methodist University. He contributed detail design and project management experience for the F-8U Crusader and F-4 aircraft, the Bomarc missile and the Saturn V booster. In 1963 he moved to the Melbourne, Florida area and made design and management contributions to electronics for the Titan III and Advanced Minuteman missiles, Lunar Orbiter Spacecraft, classified satellites and scientific digital computers as well as laser facsimile product lines. In 1977, Garner started rebuilding Symetrics Industries where he served as engineer, President, and Chairman. Symetrics is a responsive firm designing, manufacturing, and marketing electronics worldwide for many aircraft platforms. Products include night-vision subassemblies, missile telemetry sets, modems for compressed imagery data, countermeasure dispensing systems, aircraft health monitoring systems, and electronics for miniature unmanned aerial vehicles. Anything Garner has accomplished in his life he attributes to the mercy, grace, and power of God and Jesus Christ his Savior.
