The present study included sixteen old and new private sector banks i.e. Axis Bank, Catholic Syrian Bank Ltd., City Union Bank Limited, Dhanlaxmi Bank, Federal Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Indusind Bank, Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd, Karnataka Bank Ltd., Karur Vysya Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, Lakshmi Vilas Bank, South Indian Bank, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd. and Yes Bank Ltd. in India and covered a time span of fourteen years i.e. from 2004-05 to 2017-18. For the purpose of analysis, the period of the study has been divided into two parts i.e. first sub-period from 2004-05 to 2010-11 and second sub-period from 2011-12 to 2017-18. The study used the independent and dependent variable to know the impact of the FDI on productivity and profitability of the selected private sector banks. In this study, Foreign Direct Investment, Staff and Expenditures are taken as the independent variables; productivity and profitability are the dependent variables. The study provides the recommendations for improving the impact of FDI on productivity and profitability of the private sector banks in India
